    I’ve always liked the general apperance of the Roadmaster. I’m sure it will work well in twotone. I could see it working also in black/olive with black as dominant colour. However for me, the elastics in the side of hem ruin the jacket. Those elastics always remind me of cheap leather jackets...

    there is one of these in size XL for sale on ebay. I might have pulled the trigger, but the seller won't ship outside of US. I reckon the measurements are taken from Himel's website and are not accurate at all. This jacket was done according to Orvis's sizing. With Orvis I wear XL and I'm 6'2"...

    Maybe you should consider using stiffer hide for the shackleton you plan to use for travelling, if you're going to load the pockets of it with lot of heavy(?) stuff? Maybe for example jerky hh? And yeah, the back should be in that case definitely also be leather.

    I have one in battered steer with wool back. I’ve had no issues with the back, but if I would order it again, I would have the back made of leather too. Goat would be a nice choice IMO. Battered steer is great but very sensitive to getting scratches and marks.
