Well said! We should all limit ourselves in wearing raw hides, like our ancesters once did! We don’t any of that modern tanning or finishing that changes the apperance of the real thing! And this is not an opinion, its a god given fact! [emoji12]
I can’t help thinking that if this exactly same jacket had Thedi logos and it would been captured better on film, that most people would have a different view on the matter.
disclaimer: I am not a Schott fan boy, I don't own the jacket in the OP nor do I intend to buy it.
I didn't make the claim that anyone has said anything about fakes. I just read quite a few comments how people dislike artificial aging (this has also been discussed here before). At the same time...
As it seems to be rather general opinion here that distressing is bad and worn look should be "earned", I'm sure everybody dislikes these Thedis as well. Unfortunately I am, as usual, in opposition and really love these creations.
About Thedi’s suede... I am not sure, but I think Its just the same goatskin as my jacket is, but just rough out. Which would make it thick and heavy but soft and pliable.
My 2 cents: Two sizes down if you're in relatively good shape. One size down if you have some "temporary" package around waistline. Bootlegger tapers down to waistline more than other Aero models I've handled. I have 50" chest 43" waistline and 46" bootlegger I tried on was fine on chest and...
Your opinion is certainly as good as mine, if not better, but with this opinion, I believe it's hard to find any repro B-3's with any value as they're all bound to be more or less inaccurate.
For me it's easy to understand that fit and warmth would be more interesting qualities for many of us.
You're right. I've been wearing it indoors now for an hour and there is already some graining on sleeves.
I thought about deleting the epaulets, as I am not a fan either, but then I decided that this style needs to have them. I feel I made the right decision.
I don't understand what you mean...
My Safari coat came today. I was really surprised by what Pegasus hh is like. It’s unlike any horsehide I’ve handled so far. Extremely smooth, very soft and pliable. I would compare its feel more to goatskin.
I’ll try to get some fit pics tomorrow.
I don't want to dispute any of the esteemed bootlegger experts here, but I think that if one takes the size that matches their chest measurement, the fit is closer to this:
I have a 50" chest and I would take size 46 or 48 for better fit.
