The Elephant in the Room - Man Purse

Another man bag of mine: 5* helmet bag with paint by Joeby of Glastonbury (Bike custom painter)

The Elephant in the Room - Man Purse

Bag cost £55. Unsure of pattern origins but looks less ‘action man’ than some. Being out in the sticks with a working dog (doesn’t work actually), the ‘man-bag’ especially in camo comes across as a working game / dog bag & attracts zero negative comments. Even up the ‘Smoke’ it’s viewed as a dog...

The Last decent Alpha Ma-1 ?

Rescued a ‘Vintage’ series USA Alpha B-15 at Xmas, cheap on Vinted. Replacement for another I shouldn’t have sold. It’s the blue shell version, waistband knit was blown but another from MASH pimped it up nicely.

The Last decent Alpha Ma-1 ?

Jumped back down the rabbit hole with a Alpha replica series sage early MA-1 again having regretted selling mine about 5 years ago and having tried to locate another since. Found one in XL on evilBay which became mine for £44. Shell is very good but knits are totally blown, new set arrived from...

USAF N-3B parkas - Let's talk about them!!

Well, my latest set of knits arrived from MASH this morning and that’s about a week from ordering to door …. pretty good for small airmail package Japan to UK. Full set of knits for a repro early MA-1.

USAF N-3B parkas - Let's talk about them!!

Need help choosing g1 jacket size

I hear you! Have tried to get an issued G-1, being a 46 chest but broader shoulders even the 48 is too narrow. Only real option for me is repro route. Had an issued Star 48 in goatskin which fitted everywhere bar the shoulders so it had to go, tried another issued 48 in cow hide, same shoulder...

USAF N-3B parkas - Let's talk about them!!

Is it worth getting the knits replaced? MASH Japan do some great replacements. Just had one nylon jacket treated to new knits & about to get a second sorted.

Overlap (or lack thereof) on the unzipped chest of cross-zip and double rider perfecto style motorcycle jackets

I definitely go with the one size too small looks great open and I’ve had a few of those …. note….. ‘had’ a few of those … sold them on for jackets that are actually comfortable

The Last decent Alpha Ma-1 ?

Sold all mine on as they were a bit oversized and the XL was easily an XXL. The P2P must have been 30” + Tried the Large but that was too small … go figure! Alpha also had another quality repro range and being a 46 chest I jumped on a size 44 B-15 … totally swamped me! Was a 48 at the very...

ELC B-3 Perry sportswear fitting advice needed

TBH wouldn’t size up with an ELC shearling myself. Had their Irvin type which I ordered in my chest size of 46 and it was fine over a T shirt or light sweater. A-2’s I size up in though or feel like a sausage when zippered :)

What’s your best hanger for leather jackets?

I take a couple of decent shaped medium thickness wooden hangers (tape them together) and then sellotape bubble wrap around them so as to give width and support to the leather jacket eventually hung there.
