Posting to document this rare and super interesting hat—a Mallory Commander. I think I’ve only seen one other on the lounge.
Definitely 1940s in proportions and the original box had a layer of newspaper from 1948 inserted as a kind of dust shield. Unfortunately it didn’t keep the moths out...
This is the craziest one yet. This hat was coming from a seller in White Plains, NY—about ten miles from my house. Had been scheduled for delivery today—at this point I’m not sure I’m ever going to see it. Went to Georgia, to Queens, to Indianapolis, to Queens, to Indianapolis.
Whippet for a post office run to mail out some hats. Heading up to Vermont today where it is currently 6 degrees. Sorry to say no fedoras will be making this trip.
