Hello all,
I am selling a pair of Deadstock Swedish work trousers from the 1950s:
thick cotton weave: as tough as denim.
two toned weave: purpley brown/green but prevalently light olive green.
buttons for braces and belt loops.
Very wide legged.
size 32/32
£12 plus £4 postage in the...
Hello, I was wondering how Loungers keep their vintage wool clean without constant dry cleaning?
I picked up a nice pair of wide legged wool trousers at a thrift store and would like to keep them in good shape.
Fantastic Deadstock Swedish work trousers from the 1950s:
thick cotton weave: as tough as denim.
two toned weave: purpley brown/green but prevalently light olive green.
buttons for braces and narrow belt loops.
Extremely wide legged, much like the pair worn by the lad in this photo:

What do you think of this suit trousers/casual checked shirt combo from a 1950s Sears catalog?
I like it, but I'm wary of it coming across as contrived.
Note the matching belt. :o
Hello all! I know this is a predominantly vintage clothing forum, but here are a couple of modern garments that are readily available for low prices, and which feature classic styling.
This is the RAF general service jacket:
Made of polyester/viscose with a detachable quilted lining...
buttons up on the 'wrong' side, arms strangely wide and slightly too short.
I'm pretty sure it's a ladies' shirt but I wanted to check with you guys before I send it back.
Just to clarify, it wasn't advertised as such. lol

Not to provoke a flame-war but firstly this is both cheeky and funny of them, and secondly, you know you've past the threshold of geekery when you've discovered things like this.
So I came across this article about the 13 Rebels, the motorcycle club which inspired The Wild One in a blog about general rebelliousness, and found this cool sweater:

Anyone that thinks old...
Hello folks, I thought it might be useful to compile some information on the various types of jacket used by the Luftwaffe in one post, along with some pictures. I won't get into trousers and one piece flying suits too much, as that's a subject more appropriate for reenactment forums. Most of...
Beautiful Luftwaffe issued jacket. In my size too!

Some people like irvins, but this one is my pet obsession. Much rarer and pricier unfortunately. Avant Garde.
So we've seen many American 1940s catalogs by Sears... Where are the European ones? Of course American workwear and casualwear was the most influential of the time, but there must be some purely European equivalents.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could suggest a source for 1930s-1950s European...
Hullo fellow members, I don't know if this maker has been mentioned before, but the website is very professional, and the patterns of the jackets look very elegantly done. Prices are around the aero standard, but these designs are more vintage 'inspired' than faithful replicas. I have to say...
Hello fellow members.
I have looked at various advice on leather treatment online, and it usually seems to be along the lines of 'just let it be, apply conditioner 1-2 times a year.'
Then it occurred to me the most common jackets are (as I understand it) chrome tanned and/or pigment dyed...
Hullo everyone, my interest in vintage leather started with Luftwaffe Karl Heisler heated jackets, but seeing as they are extremely rare and pricey(I settled for a noblehouse 'casual' repro), I thought I might as well look elsewhere in the mean time.
G-1s seem to be readily available and at...

These guys make some very nice coats, both reasonably faithful to their WW2 items and loosely based on them. I was wondering if either anyone is aware of a UK retailer, or if there is an equivalent company in the UK with a similar design philosophy?
I thought that some of you would appreciate the low price, and the very beautiful styling and features of these coats.

It's probably a bit too bold a style for me. ;)
Were the leather jacket designs popular on this forum, used exclusively for workwear and by motorcyclists/aviators between the 1920s and 1950s? Or were they used as every day 'casualwear' as well?
This is the so called Nachtjager by Noble House. It's based on the 1944/45 heated jacket issued to luftwaffe pilots. I was looking for a jacket in this style for quite a while, and I was really excited to find this repro.
The thing I like about this garment is that it isn't instantly...
