Seems like a good deal to me.
This might have been posted before, but I think it deserves it's own thread.
Have a look at this website which features very striking portraits of volunteers in the Spanish civil war.

Do I have a treat for you: Große Freiheit Nr. 7 is a colour German film made in 1944, and set in the harbour of Hamburg. It was banned in Nazi Germany but was shown right after the war. It's an interesting for many reasons. Firstly it's completely apolitical.
One thing that surprised me was a...
So I've been trying to 'streamline' my wardrobe, albeit unsuccessfully. So, let's assume you managed to get rid of the clutter in your wardrobe: What would remain? What are your essentials?
Yes, it's Topman, but a very good looking jacket for the price:

Have you seen these jackets by Dikasoff before?
I like the look of the Luftwaffe jacket and the Soviet Union pilot jacket in black(specialist in bad guy clothing?),
though I don't like Stalin's stupid face on the lining...

Hello all!
I'm looking to buy some nice square/knit ties of minimalistic design, anything from plain black to small designs or stripes.

for a couple of ties.
If there are any ties...

Just a nice jacket.
Hello, this is a quote from 'Luftwaffe Air and Ground Crew 1939-1945' from Osprey Publishing:
''Tuchose(trousers) would be soaked in warm water, with wooden boards forced into each leg, and then left to dry. The desired silhouette was a close-fitting jacket and baggy trousers''
Sounds like...
Hello, it has occurred to me that I am accumulating a fair bit of military surplus, due to the fact that it's abundant, often deadstock vintage and cheap. Therefore my wardrobe might be on the verge of turning too green. :)
Do you reckon it's possible to successfully dye olive green cotton any...
Vintage shirt in a larger size:

I asked for a size, apparently the chest measures 56cm, so a little too small for me.
Asked for a photo of the back: it features a...
Hello loungers, I just watched the french movie 'Port of Shadows' with Jean Gabin from 1938 [not a bad movie, a bit tedious]
and noticed this:
The girl's raincoat is obviously transparent, and looks just like nylon. Can anyone confirm if this is actually the case? I know that nylon existed at...
Hello, being that I've started properly 'immersing' myself in mid 20th century stuff, I would be grateful if you would recommend your favourite books and blogs with profound photography of the life and style of the time.
In particular I'm interested in the often overlooked subjects: Spanish...
I'm not the biggest fan of the A2, a bit plain for my tastes, but I think it looks good either:
a) when the fit is perfect, b) in heavy horsehide whereby the simple pattern shows off the fancy leather and this:

I just think it...
Obviously most of us here are somewhat biased towards vintage style. I think it's not so much that good clothes don't exist today, it's that the industry has grown and the variety of designs and materials is much larger, and thus you have to wade through mediocrity to find stuff that is well...
Haha, well, it's happened, I'm a jacket nerd. Have a look at 7:04 in this film:

Looks like a B-6, it really is a handsome jacket.
Be sure to subscribe to the channel too, lots of educational videos from the 1940s-60s, some...
