I have heard that Horween isn’t really tanning the hefty stuff that much anymore. Demand just isn‘t there as it was ten years or so ago. You can still get them, but orders are in slots and - apparently- at a premium price.
I‘ve tried to find a Harro straight zip in my size for years. Love their bold designs!
I’ve pretty much stopped searching. The used market only shows tiny sizes. I even have one laying around I could use as a Bolero jacket.
To each their own.
Lost Worlds adds extreme charges for minor alterations to sleeve and torso length, Simmons Bilt now charges extra for their old standard hide (CXL HH), and the upcharge at Lewis Leather for their veg tan cow is not for the faint hearted as well.
The list of extra charges at...
But that is exactly the point: TFL has members from all over the world, bringing all their cultural backgrounds of negotiation (or lack thereof) to the table. Nothing worse than a cultural trap to stumble into out of naivety.
I didn’t know that.
AFAIK, the original jackets were made by Belstaff.
The “Mutt” jacket was then commercially available to the general public. At that time, Belstaff had turned into the fashion company it is today. Quality kind of okay but vastly inferior to what is the norm in our parts. I...

This is one great jacket! The navy colour sets it ever so slightly apart from the sometimes brutal black variants.
Also, the CXL looks killer. Hope the knits are up to it in the long run.
Thank you. I am setting at my desk, wearing the jacket. Don´t usually do that in the house, but I am really honeymooning with this. Starts to drape too.
This is a size 42.

I was worried that the "C" was small on...
Just unboxed half an hour ago. Vanson/MrFrown C2 in Cognac Badalassi.
Still has the shape of the box rather than my torso, but I am so pleased I had to share immediately.
I was pretty worried about sizing, but no way I could do one up.
Hide is absolutely utterly gorgeous, and the hardware...
