Coolabah on a beautiful sunny day. Wearing my best Star Wars shirt.
I noticed stock of Akubra hats getting low from some of the regular vendors. Was getting concerned until I read this post from one of the workers at the factory.
In regard to wait times, demand is at its highest and the...
Thanks. And thanks for the reminder. I have been thinking of giving it a bit of a brushing, get the dust off, then hitting it with Scotchguard to help protect it and keep the dirt and grime from getting into it.

Akubra Snowy River to work today and swapped out to the Indian Pith when I got home. Another heat wave this week. It’s been an odd year. These flowers don’t usually start to bloom for another month.
Any pictures of what you have in mind? Unless a vintage hat, a lot of “sharp” creases get there over time. Rain storms and man handling.
There is a technique I learned with old scout hats that may work but let me know what you have in mind and I may be able to give you better direction.

That’s some good Company information. The catalog I was looking at was in a hat shop from around 2002-3 era. Don’t have a copy myself. They let me look at it to see if I wanted to order something in. So I am working off of 20 year old memory. According to the wife that not very reliable. Kind...
I remember first seeing this style in the Biltmore Catalog. Last owner before it got bought out by Hatco. The company was focusing on the urban market, so the catalog said. Lots of short crown, stingy brims in real flash colours. Made for big city people. Very much Steve Martin’s character.

I know this will get moved to the “ask a question” or “stingy brims” thread but thought I would give it a shot on the open forum first. Who makes Steve’s hats? I read Goorin brothers did the matching hat bands for the outfits but who made the hats? Yes I know they are probably wool numbers but...
Tilleys are pretty fantastic. They are also the reason all my fedoras look so good. If I am going to be sweating and doing hard work I wear my Tilley or pith helmet so they take the brunt of abuse.

Now that looks like fun. If I was wearing the Super Genius hat I would take up the annoying habit of calling everyone George. Even the girls. Wear them in good fun man.
That is Sunbody version of the Stetson “Open Road”. Stetson does still make that model but it comes pre-creased in a cattleman’s style. To get the look you are going for your two best options are the Akubra campdraft. It comes open crown so you can style it how you like. With shipping is roughly...
