Personal Advice - Orphan suit coat

Pocket pool What this infers, and I would think, is that patch pockets lend themselves better to using the suitcoat as a sport coat. Thoughts?

    30's~40's Work Boots

Ammo and Garrison boots What Price Glory has some nice examples at reasonable prices. http://onlinemilitaria.net/shopexd.asp?id=656&bc=no I refinished a pair of his prototypes he blew out a year or so ago (too orange and cap toed) and now I feel like Tom Joad in 'em. (Well, no, I've not been...

Is there no love for the two piece single breasted vintage 30s 40s suit?

Lucky Man Great suit! And what a great fit. Did it require much alteration? And to think you got another set of trousers with it, makes it a dream find. Congratulations!

    Kicking your coffee with hooch

The Kick in your Coffee I am secure enough to put Amoretto in occasionally. A furtive splash of Grand Marnier, out of the sight of Mrs. Foster has gotten me through many Christmas morning brunches with family.

brimming I agree the brim on the movie hat looks significantly wider than the Christy's website Homburg offering-yet it clearly has the bound brim edge. Puzzling.

Personal Advice - Orphan suit coat

How much and when? Your reply raises an intersting point: Just how often did the 'average' salaryman of the Twenties or Thirties kit out in a sport coat versus a suit? And, I always take your advice as sound even though I may not agree or fully grasp it.

    Paranormal Activity

Blair Witch II Just another damn thing Mrs. Foster will cite that I missed out on. For $15K, she would have allowed the crew to film our bedroom for a month. According to her, my various sleep sounds and gyrations are horrifying indeed. Not rated. I thought Blair Witch Project was audacious...

Is there no love for the two piece single breasted vintage 30s 40s suit?

The Rodney Dangerfield of vintage suits I note the top is a three piece. The second is a very nice example of a desirable single breasted two piece suit. Even though the stripe looks very contemporary, the width of the lapels and overall look make it look older. I think Reetpleat is right...

Correct fit- how small is too small?

A fit fit I think it's ok because I prefer a loose fit. It isn't really 'drapey'. My rule of thumb is it's too big if it looks borrowed.

"The Panic Is On" DVD and CD on The Great Depression

The Panic is no picnic While the set describe above is a 'documentary', there are also great movies that have become part of our cultural view of this time: "The Grapes of Wrath" being probably the best known and there are a dozen or so gangster movies that everyone knows. The fun of the...
