Using a brush is a very good thing for your clothing, as it removes surface dirt etc. from the garment and prevents it from setting in. It is not very complicated at all.
You need a brush of reasonable stiffness, hard to describe, but anything that is not a metal brush or a super soft badger...
I disagree with the wording of rule no. 1. I agree that the tie knot shouldn't really be any larger than "a half windsor", but there is a problem with the definition. A tie that is made with a thick material and is thick at the knotting could easily become too large with even a four in hand...
None of the wool waistcoats I have seen had silk lapels. Only ones I have seen with silk lapels had the body made from plain or patterned silk. I'm on my phone right now but I can name a few sources for you when I get home.
Edit:
Had a look through my books, and all they say is that silk...
I get it sometimes. More often from kids, but i have no idea why. The problem with the Jones comment is that i never know if it s rudely meant or as a compliment to the fact that i have accomplished a "look". I feel much better when people give me the "Gatsby".
Lucky. Reminds me of once i was driving around Norway with a friend looking for closed down shops were we could buy the entire stock. We found a mens clothing store that had been closed for over 60 years. The place was filled with cardboard boxes full of every kind of item you could ever wish...
The woman at usps told me that they had huge piles of stuff waiting to be flown overseas. 1-2 weeks of mail is a lot. She told me that I could expect 2 weeks of wait after the ash-clouds have completely gone away.

Most restaurants i would go to wearing a hat has some kind of coat rack, and conveniently, nobody ever uses the top of the coat rack to store things on, and my hat gets all the space it needs. I try to plan ahead regarding what hat to wear when going out to eat etc. if i know that i wont be...
Wonderful suit. If it really bothers you that much not to see your vest, id suggest you have a. tailor remove the hard press on the lapel, and instead give it a soft roll all the way from the top of the lapel. I have done such to many coats before and it works well most of the time. Pressing it...
Trying to alter the lapel roll will often result in an awkward looking collar. The jacket probably wasn't constructed to allow for a long lapel roll. I'd really love to see some pictures though.
If you are looking for anything to stretch/iron/shape your hat on, you ought to get one of these:

I use one to shape and stretch my hats. Works perfectly. Unfortunately, i do not know of anyone that makes them. Saw a couple on ebay a...
