Dinerman, apart from being an all around snappy dresser, you're one of my favourite posters in this thread because you always infuse a sense of fun and whimsy into your wardrobe. I get the impression you're probably a blast to hang around with! Bravo, sir!
The face and build are so masculine that I thought it was a man in drag. I interpreted the breasts as a guy with a big chest and the tailor cinching the waist extra tight on the jacket to create that illusion. Even knowing it's a woman I find the face very, very masculine O_O;
The third picture in that set of three would look outstanding on a woman...someone should have told the tailor this is a menswear contest.
I'm fascinated by that bespoke in Brooklyn tailor's entry, Although it's a bit over the top for me, it's not so much so as to be in the realm of absurdity...
Make a three piece frock suit! Frock coats are awesome and definitely very unusual! Look to Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes if you wish to see a superb example.
I love Art of Manliness. Some awesome articles and some of the content is pretty hilarious. I also like that it promotes true manliness (as opposed to the brainless oafish thuggery promoted by popular culture) as an ideal for men to aspire to.
Hear, hear! Let me say, Sproily, that you outdo yourself and make me positively green with envy! :P Magnificent! Where did you get that frock coat? Is it vintage? Please tell us about it!
Not to mention that awesome topper.
Joe, those cobalt blue and white spectators...WOW! Very bold, but very, very stylish. Pair those with the right suit and accessories, and BOOM you're making a splash wherever you go. I love them!
I just bought a pair of stacy adams Maddison ankle boots, and I absolutely love them. I'll post...
Wow, some really excellent and stylish offerings today, gents! Way to steal the show! GIJoe, you make me jealous with your stylish outfits and grand adventures. lol Bravo, sir!
The problem with all modern iterations of the tophat is that they lack the essential style and the ultra tight foldover brim curl. When you see the elegant lines and graceful curves of a real vintage tophat, the modern ones are all pale imitations.
That pop up one is about the same condition as...
They look rather like dapper refrigerators with heads and legs...apologies if I offend anyone, but who ever thought this looked good? O_o I guess it goes to show you that although style was far more common in the Golden Age, it certainly wasn't universal!
Being in law enforcement, most folks tend to call each other by their last names only, or sometimes we address each other as "officer." If you're friends with the person you might call them by their first name.
They do seem to be very hard to come by. Tantalizingly close, yet so far! I could possibly pull off a 7 3/8, as it's only 1/8 inch difference, but not much different than that.
I nearly scored my holy grail of hats the other day, a gorgeous near mint vintage silk opera topper in 7 1/8. The hand written tag at first appeared to read 7 1/2, my size, so imagine my horror when I found out it didn't fit.
It made me wonder if there's any gents on the lounge who might have a...
