Here is the first pair of orphaned trousers,,, really wish I could of found the jackets
Very similar to the first two pair with the suits. Again very heavy wool fabric
Trimmed cuffs
Front buttons
Button fly
Internal belt system
Close up of the band and tag
Fastener
Trousers
Again, no belt loops
This pair has buttons on the side
Inside details, no internal belt system. Most of the rubber around the waist has gone hard, crunchy, brittle.
Because of this, the nice lady at the thrift store gave me this suit for half price, only had to pay $10 for this...
This is the third complete suit, similar but different style from the first two
This looks like light brown or beige color...until you get the right light on it and it really comes alive with hues of blues and purples..its quite amazing really
This picture sort of shows the colors
Close up of...
Here is suit number 2
Very similar to the first suit, but perhaps a bit more formal.
The fabric is black heavy wool that is similar to felt. It has a satin like collar almost tux'ish
Again color is faded in the photo, should be black
Sleeve buttons
Same labels
Trousers, again poor...
This picture is probably the closest to the real color of jacket
I think the trousers are just great
The trimmed hem is pretty cool
Front details, notice there are no belt loops
Back details
Front buttons, fabric close up
Inside of the trousers, no suspender buttons, it has an...
Hello, I was lucky enough to come across 3 suits and 2 pair of orphaned trousers in the thrift store the other day.
All are well made, very heavy fabric, mid-50's from Germany, they obviously all came from the same person who seems to of really looked after them well.
I had time to take...
Picked up this classic style bike jacket today at the thrift store, made in Canada, really heavy, thick leather and fits me perfect.
Good $10 score!!
Not a great photo..
Found this small leather pouch at the thrift store today
Inside it was what I thought might be a pen...
From the corrosion on the snap and the wear on the leather, it would appear that it has been in this case for a long time
It turned out to be a very thin mechanical pencil, no writing...
Not sure what I think of these...picked them up in a thrift store today.
Unknown maker and sold at the Hudson's Bay stores in Canada.
Picked them up because a) I dont have a pair of 'buckle shoes' b) they were $6 c) Made in England and seem to be fairly well made d) they fit like a glove (so to...
For $5 I couldn't say no...the box is worth it. The question is, should I use it on my shoes?
Anyone try one of these, or any other fancy electronic shoe polishing device? :)
Thx
I rarely see fedoras in the thrift stores, so when I saw this Dobbs I had to pick it up, even though it is too small for me.
It is in very good condition, it does not seem to have been worn much.
This one is a Canadian Dobbs "made under licence"
It was sold in Calgary by MacLeod...
Nice bikes Casper. I have a 1968 T100R Daytona...same engine as the Trophy in your last pic, but mine has dual carbs.
Would like to try a newer Triumph, like bikes that still have spokes :)
Opinel
I carry 2 Opinels, a #6 in my pocket and a #8 in my 'man bag'. French made design thats been around for along time, simple, has a carbon blade that can be sharpened to shave with and best of all, cheap to buy (+/-$10)
Locking the blade is a simple ring that turns
Both of...

Thats quite the collection, some very old hats there. The red chuckwagon suit is kinda, um different, whats the story with it?
Lots of western gear here in Alberta, I have been shying away from it but I did buy a nice Biltmore western hat a couple of weeks ago...
On a roll....
Dropped into Value Village today and found a nice pair of Canadian Dacks for $15, which is kinda expensive for a thrift store but they are in real nice condition, and they fit me.
What do you call this style of wrinkled leather?
Thx Kevin
Thanx for the info Cookie! I bought them to wear as they fit, but after reading your reply it has me thinking...
Also makes me wonder why someone would buy expensive shoes like that and never wear them..and then end up in a thrift store....
