An art deco looking glass container and lid-thrift store $2
A 1950's minute timer, notice the Atomic rocket dial-thrift store $2.49
1960's Church's seal skin shoes, AE shoe trees (new)-thrift store $7.99 shoes, $4 for the trees
1960's Chinese satin or silk, embroidered...
Sorry...didnt mean to insult anyone, especially a Yoda Master :)
When you mentioned "Church's had a run where they made shoes from ANYTHING that moved & breathed" I thought there was a definite time period for this...
Couple of more pics..
Thanks Cookie...I was guessing 1980's because I found this ad for "Fighting Seal" Church's..different shoe but same leather

Here is another Grenville tie...this one is interesting because it is a "Four-way" tie, both ends are the same size, but there are 4 different patterns, so you get four ties in one
Carried a Parker 45 and a Cross pencil today.
Bought both at a thrift store today...they had bags of pens for a $1/bag..had to but 2 bags to get these...ended up with 20-30 other pens too :)
I'm guessing 1980's, so not really vintage...but nice shoes I think
My first pair of Church's
I'm assuming it is seal as it says "Fighting Seal" on the inside
The shoes cost $7.99 at the thrift store, and I paid an extra $4 for brand new AE shoe trees
This no flash...
Couple of fun finds...
A wood "3D" sign
A glass mannequin head...I'll use it to display old hats, sunglasses etc
A porcelain clown head cookie jar...too bad that most of the red paint is missing (nose, lips, cheeks, band on hat)
Wow...good fedoras rarely show up in thrift stores and if they do they go fast, you were in the right place at the right time!
25 cents is unreal, excellent find!!!
Well done
Calendar Plates
I was cruising the thrift store the other day and for some reason I looked through a stack of those souvenir, collector plates.
Usually they are from some town, state or tourist attraction...and most of them were, except these two.
These are advertising, calendar plates...
Can this hat be saved?
Hey guys..I was in a thrift store and spotted this Boater...surprisingly it was the real thing.
Unfortunately it has an 'issue'.
The brim is bent upwards in one spot..
My guess is it sat in a closet for years, improperly stored and somehow it changed shape...
Thanks for the reply. Yes they are from the 50's, I just noticed I forgot to post the date tags
Not sure if the "52" is a date or not..
Yes, that is an unusual pocket square :)
Thx
I know this doesnt belong in this thread but I thought I would post it anyways.
Also found this pair of vintage Swiss ski pants in the same thrift store.
I suspect they belonged to the same fellow that owned the above suits, as it seems to be the same vintage and size.
Kinda cool
This would of made an interesting suit..
Same basic style and construction, again heavy fabric
Top front
Top back
Close up of the fabric
Top buttons
Trimmed cuffs
The usual button fly
and internal belt
So that was my German suit score. The bonus part is that it all fits me more...
