    On the NJ shore, they use defunct Christmas trees to stabilize the dunes. On my familys farm, we grow and sell Christmas trees, a cut your own operation. Occaisionally we get a request that a tree be dug up rather than cut, but doing so would mean a loss of top soil and a hole to fill in, so...

    To be precise (and pedantic) it is ininitially a cold water heater as well. Drop the adjective and you cover everything. “Hot water heater” is the term I always heard in my youth also.

    This is actually an accurate term, as you are constantly adding heat to already hot water just to maintain the temperature. “On demand” types should be called “cold water heaters”!

    There are some real hazards in distillation that you don’t have in beer or wine making: flammable liquids & vapors, possibility of explosion, and methanol poisoning if done incorrectly. .
