Today I'm the man in black...
Penney's Marathon XXX. Original price tag still under the lovely supple sweatband - $7.95.
I also have a Champ almost identical to this right down to the ribbon width.
Weekend lids
Went out for dinner last night sporting the Dobbs 15 stingy with Guild Edge. The oilskin over the internal lining label makes me think it's a 50's vintage. Perfect condition and this is its first outing.
This morning it was off to the local Farmers' Markets for some fruit n'...
I have no doubt you will Billy. I'm expecting England to smack us hard today.
But what about that hat-trick eh??!!! Amazing moment to be there at ringside.
Thanks Mr ophile! Can't say I've seen too many Strats (or even one other) with the grey tan combo of this one. Makes it versatile - and I like it!
Nice Knox too!
Yesterday and today...
Yesterday:
The Stetson Stratoliner - the tie is a vintage Stetson too!
Today it's the Stetson Whippet - 60's Aussie stingy version (which you can still buy today under the Akubra brand - though the ribbon is narrower):
Stetson Springaire
I haven't worn the 1960's Springaire in a while but sometimes a hat just suits the mood and this was its day. It's also spring here in Oz, so it all fits. I'm not sure I've seen another Springaire round these parts.
It's a Stratoliner kinda day
First outing for my grey and tan Stetson Strat. The date under the lovely soft, wide sweat is 27 March 1948.
Did I mention it cost me $US23??
Magic!
