Tonight was a slice of life. I toasted some fine porterhouses on the grill, wore my new Borso, and smoked an Ashton VSG robusto, my favorite legal cigar while listening to some John 'Cougar" Mellencamp. Remember when he was John Cougar?Mellencapmp and his music was so much more earthy and better...
Very nice, Step and Tony. Tony's hats are just classic looking. That one is no exception.
I couldn't agree more with your statement about Tony's service. Early on Tony said to me that if he couldn't make me a hat that I'd like and want to wear every day, he'd rather not make me a hat at all...
The more you wet them down the softer they get. I have two that have softened up nicely, one that's still pretty stiff and one still in the box uncreased and stiff as a board.
Douglas and Vic, I couldnt agree with you more. Even if it's 50's or 60's it's still a beautiful piece of hat history. I'm really excited to add this one to my lid family.
Thank you, Mr. P. I feels great sitting up there covering my baldness too.
Thanks, Scott and Jim. ;) Graham at Optimo said he thought this hat would go back to the '40's. Douglas snagged an Alessandria very similar to this one, but as I recall his did not say Alessandria on the sweatband. He's welcome to correct me if I'm wrong.
Hey, Goose, I never met a man that didn't like a Campdraft. I have four of them now plus one for Mrs. C. You can dress them up or dress them down. I love 'em. My collection of thin ribbons is growing almost as fast as RBH's.
This new hat arrived at my house today, or I should say it rearrived. I pulled this one from the bay a few weeks ago, but it was a bit small, so I sent it to Optimo for a cleaning and resizing. I asked Optimo to resize the hat to a 7 1/4 LO which meant they had to replace the sweat, but I also...
This afternoon I mowed then torched some brats for dinner. My Sunbody makes a great sweat hat. I put a wider horsehair band on it, and now I like it even better.
OIC. This isn't the first time I've been kicked aside for the musings of an attractive lady, but it is the first time in cyberspace. ;) Carey on, Jimmy.
Goose, the tawny Fed looks good. I have four Campdrafts...I may as well have three Feds, right?
I'll meet you gentlemen there in the morning for coffee. Then in the afternoon perhaps Sam and the Cuban boys will meet us there. Or does Sam need to wait until noon if we're on the high seas?
