    What do you look like?

Isn't "training fire" a euphemism for "one that got away from us"? :D Didn't I read somewhere that the majority of firefighters in this country are volunteers? How many other dangerous professions in this country can claim that kind of statistic? :eusa_clap

A breakdown of Fedora Loungers by sex, location, age and marital status

You're Irish right? At Thanksgiving my mom was complaining to my buddy's mom about not having a daughter-in-law or a grandbaby from me and Grandma B (for Bernadette) shut her quite nicely up by saying, "Well, he's Irish isn't he? Irishmen marry late." I simply walked away quietly and...

Trafalger - the political correct way

Because past military recorded wins and losses are inherently offensive, like old sports victories... Next year they'll start alternating who wins so noone's self-esteem is damaged. :eusa_doh:

    Vintage biker style...

I was impressed by the "new" classic Bonneville. I was thinking about the American but my next bike will probably be the Speedmaster. We got some big long (empty) roads up here. :D

I can't believe this sort of attitude still persists today

Baron, I wasn't actually using the word "fearful", it was this comment that raised the question. I guess my question should have been more direct. Hausfrau, What is "the state of things in the UK" you're referring to? What do you mean by "edgy"? If I'm reading it right, the...

    Tin Man -Sci Fi Channel

Good retro-styled clothing, settings and an evil Princess I'd definitely consider serving under. ;) Also, Neal McDonough as the "Tin Man" has a decent hat, a great coat, a particularly cool Sam Brown-styled belt and gear and the same vintage revolver featured in "The Mummy", the French 11mm...

In which WWII army should you have fought?

Dead tie - Finland and Poland Being a US Marine, and not having that option available, I don't feel bad about the company I'd be keeping. Resourceful and successful with great esprit. When beaten, it was due to being outnumbered, not outfought. "Russia won the Great Patriotic War, but...

I can't believe this sort of attitude still persists today

What possible state can things be in where an American accent could rationally cause alarm or concern? Are they afraid we might vote for someone they don't like right in front of them or something? [huh]

    The confidence for the hat

I like the snide "nice hat" comments best when it's raining or snowing and the commentee completely misses the ironic vision of which one of us is "cool" and which one of us doesn't have water matting his hair and running down his face. :D
