Thanks, gents, for the nice comments.
Dan, in natural light there seems to be just the slightest hint of blue.
Josh, the look, the crease and the rake of this hat are entirely attributable to the talent of my friend, Jimmy. I've had hats come back from Optimo with what they call...
The weather is finally cooling down some, at least enough for me to wear felt for part of the day. I've picked up two or three hats over the summer that I'm just now posting because it's been way too hot to wear them for several months.
This one is a Dobbs 20 that I fished from the bay last...
601 Green Corona tonight with a taste of Aberlour. Excellent cigar even though the box arrived just today and I didn't give the first one any humidor time at all.
Often in my case. I have half a dozen or more bottles of Scotch in my cabinet, and the Laphroaig is the one I reach for most often.
Tonight it was a Punch Upper Cut with nothing to drink.
Have you ever seen unfinished felt? Please pardon my intrusion, but part of the art of hatmaking is finishing the very rough hat body to a final beauty. Leaving it unfinished will affect the color and look of your hat. I encourage you to reconsider your decision. Just MHO.
I do have a couple of new lids I haven't posted, but the heat has been more miserable this year than I ever remember it being before. Now that we're rolling toward fall, I should be able to get the out, wear them and post a pic or three before long.
I always enjoy the revival of this thread, especially considering it's conception with Bart chained to a tree and the hat dances and frivolity of the evening. ;)
Let's do it all again real soon. lol :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
Sounds like a very fine way to enjoy an evening. So much better than the company of the dull and mundane. ;)
Mine was a Diesel Unholy Cocktail paired with three or four fingers of Laphroaig. This box has been in my humidor for quite a while and continues to improve. It's a very nice smoke...
