Jabos, I like MarkD's and Tom's idea too. If not a thin ribbon then a thinner ribbon as in a Stetson Playboy clone. That would give Art some more latitude in working his ribbon magic on the hat.
I went back through Art's Hall of Fame to find Bart's black cherry, and the color seems to be very similar if not the same. I think that color combo would make a very sharp looking Strat clone. I'd be interested in seeing that color combination in a thin ribbon model and suspect I might be...
PSD4 and a Montecristo petit edmundo on the beach this afternoon, the latter with a gin and tonic. Tonight a RyJ short churchill is on the agenda for after dinner.
Today a La Aroma de Cuba Edicion Especial and an island Bolivar on the beach then after dinner a La Traviata maduro on the balcony.
I'd be happy to bring back a box or two, but the prices here are through the roof. I'm sure we can both do much better purchasing them elsewhere. Also, I've seen...
No Macallan here. The Glenmorangie was the most exotic choice available. The rest were Glenlivets, Glenfiddich and several Johnny Walkers. I've had all of those except Johnny Blue and I didn't really want to drop $150 for a bottle of that.
The HdM was a petit robusto for the same island you...
I brought one felt with me to the Bahamas this year, a Borsalino Alesandria, and one straw. my Sunbody go anywhere do anything beach/mowing hat. It will serve me well to keep the sun off my head while I'm relaxing on the beach and the Borso makes a fantastic casual, go with anything lid for the...
First night in Freeport, I purchased a liter of Glenmorangie for $44 after dinner tonight. It was the most exotic I could find. I had a taste of it with a HdM robusto. Not bad, but the highlands are not really my favorite, and I wish I had brought something with me.
I have a mid brown, and there are a few others here as well. I wonder if you contact them would they tell you that some of those colors are no longer available and they haven't updated their site?
I like the McLelland's Highland. I usually keep it on hand. I went shopping yesterday to replace my empty Aberlour bottle and ordered a bottle of Lagavulin. I thought about picking up a bottle of Oban too but decided to save that for the next trip.
This year I'm doing things a bit...
We're leaving for the Bahamas Tuesday. Packed my cigars for the trip tonight. Oliva Serie V, Perdomo ESV 91 and Patriarch, 601, Cubao, La Trav maduro, and several makes and models of island treats. Should be a really great 9 days. I am soooooo looking forward to getting away. I smoked my first...
We do have a few paved roads, but no Costco. Wish we did. I'm not a fan of Sam or Wal-Mart, but that's the closest we have. I don't shop them.
We do have a pretty well stocked local establishment for the purchase of spirits, and the owner is very good about ordering anything they don't have on...
I wish we had a Costco within 100 miles of here.
Tonight I had a Trinidad Habano petit corona. Nice smoke. That box is getting pretty empty too. I had it with my last few drops on Aberlour. Time to go shopping again.
Give it a go if you get the chance. Cask strength, fruity and mellow. I like it for a change of pace from the peatiness and earthiness of Laghroaig.
I'm going to pick up a bottle of Lagavulin on my next shopping trip.
I thought you all might enjoy seeing these now that I've taken a couple of pictures. They were both made to my specifications by Staebell and Associates in Richardson, TX. Bob Staebell was recommended to me by Mr. Paladin about a year ago when I bought my first humidor from him. I filled it...
I have probably been doing too much shopping lately. I recently added another end table size humidor to my crew and have been working diligently to fill this one as well. But it's fun. ;)
