Love this! I love quilted skirts, but find they can be a bit too warm in the winter when I'm sitting in my office and the heat in the building is blaring! Great for walking around in the cold though.
I have one but don't have any tops to match it, and mine is very crisp, which makes wearing...
I'm looking for a nice set of heels in nude/beige/taupe/neutralwhatevercolor, preferably 40s-early 60s style, and not having much luck. I'd prefer vintage, but of course looking for shoes this color is challenging, since everyone has a different name for neutral shades [huh]
MBH I definitely want the green dress. I've coveted this dress since forever.
Question about the navy dress with the 2 rows of buttons - what's the fiber content? Rayon?
I'm also interested in the wiggle dress. Can you give me a hip measurement on that one?
Nordstrom probably isn't too bad, but be sure to find the oldest lady you can working in that dept. In my experience, department stores aren't always too great. I've gotten terrible fittings at Macy's before. If you have any specialty lingerie stores near you, I'd try those first. I see there's...
As a general rule, you can "get away with" wearing stockings with anything. As Lady Day mentioned, a smart move would be to wear them with all dresses.
I love that flexible plastic stuff. It's so uniquely kitschy and 50s :)
Definitely let us know! They really aren't all that common and many tend to fetch pretty high prices, so it'd be a find if she has any.
I'd love to see some other types of strange earrings here, if you gals have...
Thanks! Scarlet, I described the process in the Show Us Your Hairdo thread. You should pop over there to see my rudimentary description. If you want any more info than what's there, let me know and I'll provide more detail!
Not linen. The weave looks similar but the texture is not. It has a tiny bit of sheen to it, so it might be a rayon blend.
Black Dahlia, that purse is amaaaazing!
It looks like a flexible plastic?
Very pretty. I've seen a lot of this style floating around in different colors. I have a nearly identical pair in lavendar. They're tons of fun aren't they? You're lucky to have the whole parure.
This is the easiest hairstyle ever, which is why it's the only vintage-inspired one that I do (for the most part). I twist each side back, bringing in new hair as I go, and I use combs in the sides. Then I bring the back up and secure it with another comb. The rest is taking individual curls...
Hi! Congrats on the new addition to your family, btw!
I have a question about the sizing on these - the bust size for size 18 is mentioned as 36. Is that the finished dimension or the actual bust measurement for the person?
I'm interested in 1554 and and possibly 8847. Can you tell me...
