What is your favorite aircraft of all time?

I'm another Corsair fan. I've always adored them, but watched one flying today at the air show; I just wanted to go and pet it. For what it's worth, it was definitely a crowd favorite.

    Could you survive?

It's a fun question to play with, although I'd be tempted to ask what I'm allowed to have on my person when the vortex sucks me in. Hopefully it would be on a day when I'm dressed to my vintage nines, because if I landed there in my normal jeans and a low cut blouse, the results could be either...

Anyone else collect vintage makeup? Post pics!

I was reading the "sneak a peek" from "Retro Makeup" and in the 40's page the author refers to Cyclax of London producing a Service Beauty Kit for British servicewomen, and Elizabeth Arden producing a Service Kit, presumably for American servicewomen. Have any of you ladies (or gentlemen) seen...

Over the top at the royal wedding

If there was anything to make me happy about a royal wedding, it was knowing the hats would be out in force. But Beatrice's hat... I think I see what they were going for. The ribbon look was supposed to echo the ribbon on an unmarried woman's coat of arms. Goofy, but I actually like it.

What's Wrong With My Perfume Bottle?

I'm not sure of precisely how to fix your bottle, but I'd suggest you check the threads at Now Smell This nstperfume.com, and Makeup Alley http://www.makeupalley.com/ for suggestions. I know I've seen similar questions at NST several times, I'm just not sure which fix applies in your case.

Boxes of Books: What to keep and what to pitch?!

Cleaning out books is something that is just fraught with pain. It 's not just a possession; it's the written word, ideas made flesh, etc. , etc. I think we must have some genetic memory of life in a world where books were rare, and we just can't bear to toss them! But I'd like to put in a...

    Show Us Your Compacts . . .

I'm "renovating" my Dorothy Grey compact, and I'll be trying the powder paste concoction this weekend. But the attached lipstick tube is giving me fits! Its stuck and the mechanism won't roll upwards. I've been sticking it in the oven to melt out the old lipstick, but does anyone have some advice?

    The Vintage Fur Thread

There are many advantages to a vintage fur. It's recycled, and most of them have been dead a lot longer than my lunch. They're very warm in the warehouse I work in- I know, furs and warehouse don't usually go together. Mine is a very special case. If you have the kind that have the heads and...
