Actually has been awhile since I wore something other than my camo Boonie hat. In fact it’s been at least a year since I put my Gannon on. For shame.
To be fair I did a lot of backpacking and camping this summer, it was the better choice. But still.
On my birthday last October I had this plan to grill out for my family and the friend plus his daughter. Well, weather tried to have other plans and it absolutely cut loose and rained something like 3 inches that day.
I hadn’t quite gotten back into hats but had this Outback Kodiak hat hanging...
Needed a beater that wasn’t my Gannon for rain and rough stuff. (And a friend of mine was in need of a new hat as well. )
So new hat day with a couple of Outback Grizzly hats.
Daughter and I waiting for the wife to finish some shopping.
Just a couple more things to knock off the list before I give Michael a deposit for my Moss Green one. Can’t wait.
Did the “Zoo Lights” at the Children’s Zoo here with my daughter. First snow of the year (odd for someone like me from South Dakota). But either way, Stetson Bozeman being a good little beater.
(She quickly developed a fondness for catching snowflakes. Just turned 3 in October.)
I used to smoke a pack and a half a day, but quit in 2013. I should set that aside a day. lol
You use packing tape, and here I was thinking lint roller.
Finally got a moment to snap a couple pictures. I have a few skills in this life, but photography is not one of them. I apologize.
I also have a question, just how durable is a western weight 100x hat? Am I going to kill it with some rain? I’ve quite literally never touched a hat of this...
I’ve had similar conversations with my barber. He’s been cutting hair longer than I’ve been alive. Who am I to tell him his trade?
A couple of decisions were Michael’s and I’m happier for it.
Still want some better pictures, maybe we’ll get some at the park later. For now, another shot at my desk:
I was able to snap these photos before my 3 year old threw up on the floor and interrupted my photo session. I’m sure it’s unrelated. :)
I will try to post a couple more photos tomorrow in the daylight.
Well if everything goes well, I’ll probably get that Moss Green one I was thinking about.
We’re moving into a new house the beginning of December. So once we’re settled, I’ll have more room for hats.
My first thought while reading was O’Farrel, until you mentioned you looked there. I think the hat they made for Adam Savage is more or less what you’re looking for.
I wish I had a better plan for you, but a year isn’t that long and a grand isn’t that bad. Like my wife would say: “Get the one...
