Song lyrics you messed up as a kid

I thought that the Rocketman was burning through the streets of Babylon. I also made the "secret Asian man" mistake, hahaha!

    LADIES of the LOUNGE

Ohairas, you look gorgeous! I looove the third picture. Here are a couple of websize images I just received...no full shoots have been processed yet. These photos don't quite do my green eyes justice, but they'll pop in a few upcoming images...Enjoy! And then there's my avatar...

    I hate monkeys.

In India, I witnessed a monkey climb down a pillar from the roof of a restaurant, steal a lady's piece of cake while she was eating it, and run awa! Monkeys also liked to throw rocks at my friend Zack. I saw a monkey shove another one off a small cliff, too. And get this: I saw a group of...

    High Waisted Pants & Jeans!

Yes indeed! In December, I found a pair of Parasuco indigo-dyed, high-waisted jeans for $2.99 at Loemann's because nobody would buy them (and the waist is teeny)...ha!

    Oil Cleansing Method

OCM works great for me, but only when my skin needs it. It works great on blackheads and gives the face a lovely glow. In winter and dry conditions, I use olive oil with a little bit of castor oil and a drop or two of lavender. If my skin isn't dry, I substitute the olive oil with grapeseed...

    LADIES of the LOUNGE

Here's a photo from my first photoshoot at a malt shop off Route 66...more to come! You ladies are all so stunning!

Show Us Your Pedigree! The Heritage Thread.

My paternal grandmother is a very traditional southern Italian woman. I'm pretty disconnected from my father's family (Italian Catholics + traditional Jewish family = chaos!)...I sure learned a lot about the Malocchio, though. I recall one Christmas spent with my grandmother where a bath was...

    Cold Cream- Brands and advice!

As far as the oil cleansing method goes, grapeseed oil probably the best to start with. It has a really light feeling to it. I've found castor oil to be the heaviest, though it's supposedly the best deep pore cleanser. Olive oil is good for dry skin...I ended up using a moisturizer after...

    50s Housewife Tarot Cards

Oooh, I love them! I had my cards read in India...it was crazy.

Warning for those w/ small kids

Very true...keeps your immune system strong, and it also prevents "superbugs" -- stronger germs that have built up a resistance to such products. It has been proven many times that the act of washing and rubbing your hands together is just as effective as using antibacterial products anyway.

To wax or not to wax ????

I've been an arm-shaver since 7th grade. I like how it looks and feels...except when it grows back, of course! Sometimes I like to wax my face for the smoothness (it takes to makeup better), but I can totally get away without doing that. Sometimes I'll epilate my bikini area, but it really...

    A woman's voice

I love deeper women's voices, and I also like southern accents. My voice is a little higher octave, but not shrill. I have a slight southwestern accent, hehe!

    shiners!!

The steak works for the same reason a cold compress works. I got a black eye a few months ago, and the blue/purple color faded after three or four days. It was yellow and still a little tender a few days after that, but it wasn't noticable.

    Perfect foundation/face powder

My skin has been a MESS because of my hormones! I just got off birth control about two months ago, and my doctor had me use a progesterone cream with small doses of DHEA and testosterone because those levels were extremely low when he took my blood tests. Yuck! Going off birth control is...

What is your favorite red lipstick brand/shade?

Aww, thank you! My mother brought me up that way. :)

    Vintage vs Modern

I definitely take the period and overall value of my garments into consideration. I have a few family pieces of clothing and jewelry that I would only wear on a very formal occasion, but I wear my 40's and 50's items on a daily basis. For me, it's more of the sentimental value that keeps me...

    Vintage vs Modern

I have enjoyed the overall quality of my vintage garments, but I have definitely had a few dresses that were pretty poorly sewn, both from patterns and brand names. However, I have always considered the clothes well worth the effort it takes to sew repairs and reinforcements, and I'll only...

What is your favorite red lipstick brand/shade?

I just purchased Zuzu Luxe red lipstick in "Starlet" for my shoot tomorrow, and I love it! However, I'm a little nervous about how it's going to photograph, because it contains titanium dioxide -- a natural light reflector, and the key ingredient in natural sunscreens. Oops! The shade is...

    Mineral Make-UP

I use Jane Iredale pressed powder, and I am CRAZY about it! The coverage is amazing, and my skin loves it. It has no talc or parabens, and it contains natural SPF 20 sunscreen (titanium dioxide). I also love the packaging...slightly vintage-inspired. Not as cute as Besame, but very close...
