Don't fear the unprinted pieces. I made a skirt from a 30s pattern with unprinted pieces and it was pretty easy.
As for sizing...I have the same issue. I have a pattern from the 30s with the NRA stamp on the pattern envelope. The dress looks like something out of "it happened one night"...
lucite: Think Cinderella
Here's a pic to give you an idea...They are usually sling back with a peep toe and carved heel, There is often a rhinestone detail on the top of the vamp.
Thanks...I don't know if it will help at all, but I was thinking about hacking a few inches off the top and reattaching the waistband. It will reek havok on the pockets and leave me with two buttons instead of four, but if it makes them wearable it's worth a shot. Before you write the pattern...
It's funny you say that it fits your 31" when marked a 28"...I generally find that in modern patterns if I size by measurements, it ends up two sizes too big.lol I have dark denim lying around that was supposed to be for these, I might rework the pattern and give the denim a whirl. However...
I have the bottom pattern and am almost finished with them. All that's left is the buttons and the waistband. What I found is that I will have to make the button holes the old fashioned way. My machines auto button-holer, wants to make the holes larger than the markings and for that matter...

WOW! What a witch. I don't blame you for not shopping there anymore. I wouldn't go back either. She can keep her "treasures" if that is going to be her attitude.
I have a side zip pant patterns that I bought denim to do just this. Everything is still in the bag...I have been trying to figure out how to do the flat seams and still keep everything centered. I know how to do the seams, in theory, but have never actually done them and would think they...
Dead Pan Diva...
Let's see a pic of the patterns you have. I have seen some pinafore dresses that may be too young and others that would most certainly be age appropriate.
At 34, I sometimes feel that I may be too old to pull of some looks (ie. the bobbie sockser), however, I still wear...
Nice...
Those jeans look so comfy. I have been looking for a pair of 40s jeans in the correct length (30"+). I got a pair of dead stock "Can't Rip Ums" off of Ebay, what I didn't pay attention to in my haste was the length. 26" inseam. They make really cute pedal pushers with my ballet...
I would love to find vintage silk stockings. I was beginning to think that they had all fallen apart, much like the vintage silk dresses I find that are disintegrating on the hanger. I will keep looking now that I know you girls have found them.:D
