This is still here? How is that possible? I almost bought it yesterday but just can't justify it, as I already have a drawer full of such things. The perfect pen knife, classic in every sense. A beauty.
Thanks for the look back, Paddy, my four brothers and I had one each. MANY nights spent camping in those. They are great tents, wish I still had mine. We bought them from El Paso Army Surplus in the Sixties.
Well that's just great. I just recently bought my first pair of wingtips, a virtually unworn old pair of "Dacks" because they looked neat and old timey. Turns out they're really comfortable and sturdy and I've even hiked in them. Now that they're "in" again, I'll have to put them away for...
Clyde, under those circumstances, I think you would be well served. They are certainly smart looking togs and do a credible job turning light rain. Buena Suerte.
Well I've just about worn out my fingers and eyes surfing the net looking for the answer to this question, but to no avail. Apparently they dropped from the sky outside of time, or nobody knows, or it's simply too arcane for anyone to care. Guess it will have to remain one of those unanswered...
Buyer backed out, still available.
For sale is an unused Belstaff 554 Colonial shoulder bag. Old style with the sewn-on buckles. Khaki. Currently there are two on the 'bay for $550, so I feel justified in trying this at $375 shipped to Canada or US, Europe or way down South, a bit more. If...
Yep, Skeet, I need a close-working dog. Our covers are thick mixtures of alder, bush maple, birch, willows of various sorts and lots of wicked blow-downs. Unfortunately, I have to wait until my current bird brained mutt is in her happy hunting ground as she would not understand any additions to...
BTW, when I was in the big tack shop down in the big city a few weeks ago, almost all the western boots, high end prices included, were made in China. OMG, things are going to hell in a handbasket.
I'm leaving the real info to the Ozzies, and to hell and beyond with Blundstone for the desertion, but my old Oz-made ones are the 500 and I was given to understand when I bought them that they were the "originals." Like others, I've been wearing mine for donkey's years now and they are without...
Yep, blue denim's been around in the US for about 150 years as material for work pants, it's this particular style I'm wondering about, seems to me they musta been around since the twenties or so, but I have no factual knowledge on that. I know they were around since the sixties because I wore...
Just saw Open Range with Costner and Duval and Benning again tonite. What a truly great Western. Not without a few authenticity fudges, but overall a really great film.
Ditto Skeet.
And, I've had a good look at the irish red and whites. Besides being truly beautiful dogs, they sound like a dream to hunt and live with. Thanks again for the tip.
It's been fabulous here this year. Bright blue sunny skies and hordes and heaps and even lots of flaming yellow birch and cottonwoods, Douglas maple, and in town, transplanted sugar maples. It makes hunting and hiking this time of year at least 100 per cent better. Just simply dazzling.
Thanks Skeet, and many thanks also for the info on the dogs you have. I was just having this same conversation a few days ago about how people have so screwed up so many breeds by line breeding and all that. It really just makes my skin crawl. I'm going to have a good look at this breed. If they...
