If you look closely, you can see the old original outlines of the pinstripes and so forth on it. Yeah I think someone hit it with a paintbrush!!
Interesting detail you noticed. Thanks.
Finally,..I just came back from the garage,....here's my Roadmaster and my wife's Rollfast.
Now that I look at the Roadmaster, I notice that the fender struts ar not he same as the ones I've seen in the 1939 Cleveland Welding Company's catalogue I found online. The struts on mine are straight...
you cannot weld with sunglasses.
safety glasses with a tint were commonplace in shops and industry where there might be bright ligt emmitted from an oxy-acetaline torch or grinder, etc. Welding shields were used in the mid 30s and onward, though once in a while, you'd see some guy without...
Holy crap!,....I had a pair of modern glasses when I was in high school, they looked exactly like those in the lower pic!! I wonder what happened to those??
they're safety glasses,....some have thought them to be sunglasses or driving glasses. I'm a boilermaker,....I love history,....and have been reasearching the blue collar worker world of the 30s, 40s and 50s.
nice glasses.
I can understand the Beatles-esk look to his photo on first glance.
HOWEVER, the first thing I got from his photo was the look of an immigrant worker, late 1920s, eraly 30s.
Glasses are thowback to the twenties, teens and earlier. Hat looks like an average worker's hat that can be seen in...

Light Grey Borsalino Fedora with black ribbon. Found this one at an antique shop earlier in the year, amazingly crisp and almost never worn by the original fellow who owned it! $30-35 I think I paid for it!! My favorite hat!
Well,...MY!,...Thank you....:) That's very kind of you!
I'm stuck in the past,....happy to be,..its always nicer there.
I am however, I'm still looking for my flux-compasitor to put in my '27 roadster,....lol
I'll tell ya, if any of you cats have a line on a 1930-40s vintage double breasted...
Very nice.
I would have opted for wider lapels msyelf.
More like the illustration shown, about an inch more on either side...I'm a lover of the wide-lapel,....there's a few suits and blazers Carey Grant sports in some movies now and then,....those have always stuck in my head. Looks like a...

Of course I still have no idea where we're going just yet, but I have some...
In my opinion, I think Layrite is a bit overrated and much to expensive. Yes it shouldn't clog your hair folicles like a traditional pomade, but I've actuaaly still had mild breakouts when using it (something that happens to many guys when using pomades, waxes, etc) so i'm not sure how true...
