We had all the fun stuff (well, fun to me). 3 3/4" G.I. Joe's, cowboys and indians with pre-orange tipped cap guns, a bb-gun (because every 5 year old needs a bb-gun), Legos, bike, and you can't be a growing boy without a ballglove. I'm sure there were lots of other little things that were...
Be prepared for long drives with some good (and a little bit of bland) scenery. I don't know if you've ever been to Livingston before, but when I passed through there I distinctly remember Wind, with a capital W. Mind your hat.

The Finger Test...
Personally, I like mine so it's the width of my index finger above my ear. It stays on pretty well, especially after I start sweating a little and it adheres to my forehead. It works, for me, for the constant 20mph winds we have here in the Black Hills.

I just graduated with my Bachelors last year. I'm more vintage-minded than into vintage dress... for most of my activities out here in South Dakota it's impractical for me to dress nice like that. But every once in a while the vintage inspired comes out. I am, however, never without my fedora...
The obvious solution...
is to market a chain of restraunts specifically catered to persons who need coat/hat hangers at every booth. Call it "That Dive" and you've cornerd a unique niche with, hopefully, great food.

I think the Nov/Dec '08 issue of Archaeology magazine had this site as a cover story, if I remember correctly. I don't recall if they referred to it as 'Eden' though. At least those photos of stones ring a bell... I'll have to dig it out to confirm it.

I recall reading a story about Andrews and another member of the Central Asiatic Expedition going scouting in a car away from the main group and coming upon, or being attacked by bandits. To deter said bandits he drove straight at them firing toward their ranks. As the story read, if I recall...
I've noticed that mine looks like it has the turn built in too (I, too, have a regular Fed IV carbon grey). I may have it turned slightly too (unintentional) but it is noticable in a mirror.
I'm not knocking your hat, but it's nice to see that mine isn't the only one that looks like it has a...
I have a federation that I bought in 2003 and wore it and continually beat it up and never really thought it felt 'broke in'. Then this past Christmas I received a Fed IV and after wearing that for a day I realized just how broken in my other one had become.
Wearing it is the only way... but...
How does one go about figureing out the proper spacing for suspender buttons? Is it just an arbitrary guess or some fancy formula or some in between method?

You might try TexasJacks.com if you're looking into the "old west" route, they sometimes have better prices and have different items on sale every month.
These are the one's I've been looking at:

and they're actually on sale...
My hair, too, is starting to take after my older relatives. I just tend to wear hats all the time; it works for me, I have more important things to worry about in life. I do tend to keep it cut fairly short though too.

That's a nice looking hat, I'm expecting one of these for Christmas. Seeing your photos make me feel less apprehensive about the tone of grey. I like your bash and I think I might put a diamond on top of mine.

Villagehatshop.com has a style called the Jaxon Bogart. I have one of these and it really a darn good hat for the money. Hatsdirect.com also has a Bogart-style fedora that they offer and right now it's a little less in price than the Jaxon hat.

An Adventurer's Great-coat
I was wondering if anyone has or has seen a great-coat like Sean Connery wears in LXG. It seems like a great piece to finish off and ensemble for some of us adventure seekers in cooler climates.
It appears to be just a heavy coat (I'm guessing wool), button front...
