Zephyr
Gees Mr. Fish, the Zephyr is really something. I love the model name Zephyr. I hope you are as happy with your piece-of-history Schoble as I am with mine. Careful with that stretcher! Like good whiskey, it takes a spell to get the result you want.
I had not considered the angle Mr Deckard has pointed out
Nix what I said. If a gal made if for you then you must ignore all us naysayers and hecklers, wear it, and look as if you wanted to do so.
Schoble XX
You won't regret the Schoble Mr. Fish. I went for it's twin early on. To my way of thinking the felt has a bit more body that did the good Stetsons I got from JPhi but the upside to that is how easily you can bash them. Both of my Schobles are the cats PJs.
Brooks Bros Boater
Is that a blue and red ribbon? I still want one with a blue and red ribbon to use with blue seersucker. The ribbons on the two I have now are all black and black/red. I should probably get someone replace the all black ribbon with something that will go with the tan...
Sport-Lite Doesn't Fit
Bummer GoneSolo. If you find that you have no use for a 7-1/8 Sport-Lite that doesn't fit please remember these two things: PM and Boodles. A solution to your woe can probably be arranged.
What a wonderful collection of newbie hats, sir.
Thanks for explainig your interest In the Mossant
I'll let you know first, if it's too large for me. I'm sort of in between 7-1/8 and 7-1/4 so fit for me is iffy.
PabloElFlamenco - Please take care with the WD-40
One of the properties of products like WD-40 is the tendancy to displace moisture which is not at all healthy for the wood on such a wonderful old piece like your yours. I would spray the WD-40 carefully or just use paste furniture wax on the...
I have even used candle wax on zippers
Out in the sticks (Vietnam) I have pressed the side of a candle into service to free up a sticky zipper. Perhaps the paraffin is the better choice when you have the luxury but for me the candle is more likely to be close at hand than is a block of paraffin.
Slim, it’s not that there were any questions…
…about why you dress as you do, but had there been, now there will no longer be any questions. Accoutrements, indeed. Woo wee.
# 138 Repost of Schoble, earlier was it 119 or 109?
Mr Phi,
Excuse me for cluttering up things with the trival but was the XX Schoble actually #109 earlier rather than #119? Happy Thanksgiving, Mr Phi.
--Neal
I heard from Mr Phi already
I heard from Mr Phi, promptly as always, and money has changed hands. Given that it's the Thanksgiving week I expect it'll take a bit longer than it might otherwise before I see the hat. To borrow from PM Churchill "it is the end of the beginning." Now, much like it...
Thanks Mr Douglas
There are two things about this hat which prompted me to want it more than the normal craving I get over the hats Mr Phi is offering. First is the color, I have nothing like this. The second is the Flagship label. As it is with the other styles like Whippet, Weekender...
