    Anyone else into fountain pens?

Here's a couple of photos of my pens. You might think the black one is a Parker Sonnet. In fact it's a Baoer 388, the other one is a Jinhao 922. Just under £2.50 for both of them all the way from China.

    Anyone else into fountain pens?

I realised the other day, or rather my wife realised for me how awful my handwriting is so I set myself the goal of improving it. I thought a good start would be getting a fountain pen, I hadn't used one since my school days many many years ago. After much googling I decided to get a couple of...

    Vintage Barbour jackets

Don't do it! I spend a lot of my working time outdoors, and it rains a lot. Over the years I've spent a fortune chasing modern fabrics. I've done the isoflex the goretex the this tex and the other tex. They all fail. They get dirty and lose there effectiveness. So you decide to wash and...

    Vintage Barbour jackets

You're right, never machine wash or dry clean a Barbour, you'll ruin it and your washing machine also. Besides it's easy to do the wax job yourself. You're also right on your other point. They're supposed to look as though they're being used.

    Merry Christmas everybody!!

Aww that was a kind and heartfelt message, And you've hit the nail on the head, Christmas isn't about, or shouldn't be about commercialism and money, the simple gift of having a loved one with you should be sufficient. As some scruffy little urchin once said, God bless us,every one.

    Pocket Knife

Well well, you live and learn. Back in the day when we used to have proper pubs here they often used to have a jar of pickled eggs behind the bar but they never had colouring in them.. I trust they taste better than they look!

    What are you wearing today??

As you say, it's a bit of a trek from the South coast to North Norfolk. The Sheringham event does continue today. It's becoming bigger and bigger every year, the little high street is quiet packed by mid-day but it's always great fun. Alas, as wonderful as it must be to be a "Hep Cat" I'm...

    Do You Have Arrangements

I never attempt to tell my wife what she should or should or shouldn't wear, she however is unencumbered by any such sentiment.

Suggestions for quality knit sweaters and vests

Just an idea, almost any town (well here anyways) has a knitting club, where I live it's called "knit and natter". I'm sure if you contacted such a group you could find someone who could make you one in whatever colour and pattern you wanted, I'd would be cheaper and no doubt better than shop...
