Just got the newest Vermont Country Store catalog in the mail yesterday. Lots of goodies to look at. www.vermontcountrystore.com
Item# 49927
The website doesn't show this but per the picture in the catalog, this has a great gathering effect at the shoulders just like 40's dresses...
Hi ladies. I've been absent from the lounge for a bit, i was dealing with some issues on the homefront and haven't been in the mood to chat much.
anyway....so the 90 year old lady 2 doors down from me went into a nursing home last week and her family is clearing out her stuff. everything was...
miss sis: i hope you enjoy crocheting! i love it.
i highly suggest you join the crochet forum. it's huge and so helpful! and it's a great inspiration too, you can see what other people are making and look at patterns, etc. and there is a help section and the ladies are so helpful...
i'm a leftie. and i crochet leftie. my gram taught me to crochet and she was a leftie too. there are instruction books out there for leftie instructions.
to me, crocheting leftie makes more sense to my brain because you go from left to right (like when you're reading). when i watch people...
i agree...the one on top is a better choice. i have that same pattern book too :)
i'm not a big knitter, i prefer crochet. but i still wanted the pattern book for my collection.
i'll admit it...i'm a yarn snob when it comes to military colors. I like a yarn that has more of a mustard OD...
snookie, that is a fantastic tutorial! i'm growing my hair out and i can't wait till it's your length. your finished pictures are stunning! just like out of the movies.
i just got my conair hotsticks at walmart not too long ago for $15. i have only tried it once and my hair slipped out of...
I was over my in-laws house last week and I always bring my crochet bag along and I was making a snood. Their friends were over (who are in their late 70s) and the lady was like "are snoods popular again? I wore them". I was like "well....no, they aren't popular but for people like me, they...
DPD: that outfit is amazing! and it looks even better with all of your accessories! love the beads and snood.
i wish i was skinny enough to wear something like that. they always look so cute.
antje: cake mascara comes in a little container (kind of like an eye shadow container). not in a tube like what we are used to. you have to wet your brush and rub it on the dried mascara that is in the container. that's what they had "back in the day".
kittyt: what type of mascara do you use? i need waterproof too.
that mercury stuff in the other brands is very scarey!!!! that's the stuff they used to put in the shots they give babies and alot of mothers think that that is what gave their kids autism. they don't put it in shots anymore...
mine is just like that too.
my grampa gave it to my grandma on their wedding day 2-14-46
i have it in my basement. we keep our tablecloths in it.
i'm glad you got one too. glad to see it in a good home.
i'm sure they would be kinda easy to find. try babies r us if you have one in your town. they have always had everything i've ever needed.
try walmart too.
i have about 15 of them from my town mostly from the 40s. i like looking at them to see how things have changed, especially the downtown area.
haven't displayed them yet though. would love to find a big frame that will fit a ton of them on there with a nice mat.
my son is just about 10 months old and we use disposable ones. i'm very eco conscious but that is one thing that i will NOT give up. nothing is more grosser and unsanitary than using cloth diapers. you have to swish the diaper in your toilet to get the poo out and then let the diaper soak in a...
