we have comcast cable and the package we have doesn't have that channel. :( maybe someday they will show it on BBC or national geographic.
about the pacific, both of my grampas were in the pacific, one was in the army in the guam area and all those little islands. the other was Navy in the...
was at my parent's house tonight. my mom just got the JC Penny's spring catalog. there are a few cute dresses but this one stuck out the most. very 40s. and the material is a rayon crepe which is period accurate too.

johanna, really pretty. you look like my best friend in college with that look.
i have a 50's pink kitchen and i would DIE to have your table. sooo jealous.
what makes me wonder is - did everyone do that though?
Like in the mid-90's, the Jennifer Aniston haircut took the country by storm. But not everyone did that style.
Or since it was a different time, not women's lib yet, did everyone do the same thing and not be a daredevil and go off on...
I LOVE looking at original photos and movies and study fashions and hair. But I haven't seen any WW2 era photos of women with just washed and dried straight hair. Did EVERY SINGLE WOMAN during wartime in every country curl their hair at night, or get a marcel wave, or get a perm???? I look at...
In PA, they let you look at your picture before they print it. And they will retake pics if you are unhappy. I'm really suprised they did this!
kitty, looks good to me.
I originally saw these pics a few years ago. The color is so awesome, I had to look closer to make sure they were period photos.
I have printed out SEVERAL of the "rosie" pics for my war worker display that I set up at WW2 events. They are fantastic to look at and great for research...
i have very fair skin. and i like to keep it that way, so i just stay out of the sun. wear sunscreen on my face, and wear hats in the summer.
i think it's all just a matter of what mother nature gave you.
nope, not confusing at all. i understand. thanks for the advice. can't wait to try it out. i knew the different colors were for different directions, but i didn't even think about using all one direction on each side.
thanks :)
me again....
i just want to add, now that i'm done with it and looking in the mirror, it looks like a natural curl. like i was born with this. so since i was born with stick straight hair, it's nice to see what it would look like if i had naturally curly hair.
ok, i'll shut up now :)
new update....i just put in some Biolage smoothing shine milk. basically it's a liquid with light hold that smooths your hair. and it took away the frizziness and put it back into somewhat ringlet curls. MUCH better and i'm really happy with the results. i will be using these again soon...
review part 2:
so all in all, i think this would be better suited for longer hair.
i don't think these would be nice to sleep in. the ends of the curls have rubber grips that really grip your hair. and i tried laying down and they pulled. and it hurts.
i don't think you get the pincurl...
i bought some Curlformers with some birthday money. Here is my review. First off....I totally forgot to add setting lotion in my hair. I realized this when I was taking the curlers out. Anyway...
here is what I normall look like. I have an inverted bob (back is layered and shorter than the...
snookie, the reenactors in my part of the US don't fake accents. from what i've seen, most do it very badly. sure, there are some out there that could fool a national native, but they are far and few between.
as for setting up displays, you set them up at living history events. most events...
