Length 32, total or collar seam down?
Mr. Chasseur,
I am almost afraid to ask, as I think I already know the answer. Is the length you provided, 32", collar seam down or total length including collar? I apparently have the good fortune to be about the same size as yourself with the misfortune...
Too bad these are not a size 10 D. $50 bucks is a very attractive price for these nice shoes but 10 1/2 is just a bit too large for me. One thousand drats.
I would very much like to read how you prepare bottom fish. Would grouper meet your test for bottom fish?
Mr. Fish, I have been fretting considerable about folks like yourself who were and still are in the sights of Sandy. I hope you are safe.
The hat arrived to me in very good order. These good people held off shipping until I returned from vacation. Very nice old hat with the sort of "been around a while" color that you probably cannot buy off the rack.
Hello again MM. This is coming to you from the front porch of our rental at Cataloochee Ranch. I have used a mail order shoe repair several times lately but not for red rubber soles. The website implies that these guys do red rubber. It’s easy to be put off by the prices listed but keep in mind...
Nice Optimo MM and I love that suit. Summer weight and striped but not seersucker I guess? Fathers day found us in the Grove Park, 8th floor overlooking the 18th tee box. I had the windows open, can't do that at home this time of year, and was awakened before 7 by 3 turkeys in a stand-off with...
Firedome
Really sound advice from Mr. Doble, I think.
The term Firedome, as I recall, refers to the hemi (hemispherical combustion chamber) engine. '55 was right about the 1st year for these. Way, way back I recall complaints about the mongrel 2 speed auto transmission. Finding a zizwheel...
Mr. JTL,
Happy to hear that you found the shop of Kevin and Howlin to your liking. Lots of all things tweed. However swell it is to find the K&H shop that seems small when compared to the discovery of Midleton Very Rare. As some pretty woman sitting close by said of her first taste, "that is...
Mr. Lid
When I was in Dublin last, about 3 years ago, Kevin & Howlin had a zillion caps. The place is just about Eldorado for caps and tweedy stuff in general. Were it not for the call of the fresh Guinness on every corner I'd have spent a day in K&H's shop.
Good man! This is the same body style as my '52 except mine was the standard model which had way less chrome trim. About everyone my age would add the chrome teeth from a '54 chevy grille, switch out the wheels for 15" Chevy station wagon rims which were wider, and when you could find them add...
Back in the old days I would see slant-six engines, factory equipped, in some commerical applications like chipper machines and air compressors. I could never quite figure out why the slant. It did seem to make some room under the hood for the long intake manifold Chrysler used. There must have...
'52 Chevy 2 door with a 216 CID in-line 6 banger. Bought it from my father with the money from my part time gas station job, sometime in late '61 probably. I still stop and stare every time I see one of these, which anymore is almost never.
Mr. Big,
Can you actually ride a train to someplace, from Nebo?
Last weekend as I passed the Nebo/Lake James exit off I-40, I got to wondering how things were going for you and the "Mayflower."
