I saw an add today for a vintage remake it was a dashboard watch from 1935
instead of hands on a dial it had the numbers showing through a slot
it had a seperate dial for hours and minutes
any one familiar with this watch?

I sew a lot of patches on uniforms and I am not very excited about the latest BSA uniform. the media pocket goes against my idea of scouting, the zippered trouser's are poorly made (zippers will fail and the poly blend will not be very comfortable) the media pocket will...
I think I was raised right I open doors, put a lady on the proper side and all but it is getting harder to find women that understand or apprieciate that sort of thing
while wearing a white deer skin jacket a young lady was rubbing the soft leather at my back and said "it is so soft, it feels like rabbit."
I said it was and she said " I didnt know rabbits got that big"

I was at the shop next door talking costumes and the fellow said he had a 1916 salvation army coat I said I was making 1916 salvation army outfits for some curent SA women and he said he would let me have the coat for a while to copy.
I am a tailor. I still use the 1934 singer 31/15 I recieved when I finished my apprenticeship 25 years ago. I have several vintage machines but I also have a few newer ones. I do a lot of hand sewing on period items and vintage clothing.
I also have a tree farm. Hard woods.
I have a gas powed iron it is very much like a coleman stove or lantern.
I use it for display only but a camping outfitter store up the road has a few and I think he tried them out.
for the dapper camper who is in good style I guess it must have been the thing to have.

I am just around the corner on Guilford and I am sure you will find my tailor shop just as facinating. I grew up walking by hardwicks, my fathers tailor shop was a few doors down on the avenue. It is still there but...
