I have realized that in my lifetime of obtaining knowledge of combat and studying the hardware of war is that without exception the Israelis are one of the greatest fight forces in the world. They have, since the founding of the country in 1948, consistantly been opposed by forces or...
Here's a cut & paste from a thread about rudeness in the theater. What really bugs me ain't the people but this-
The whole cinema experience from my perspective wil never be what it was when I was a kid in St. Louis in the 1950s. Why? Becaue back then you watched movies in REAL theaters that...
Sorry J.M. but your comment "It's always their fault, if we could just get rid of that pesky "media" everything would be hunky dory," was taken as sarcasm. Put :) on there so we'll know you're funning us;)
Cadence- that hits the nail on the head actually. Even in the US less than metropolis-sized urban areas are more casual. There are far more smaller and medium-sized cities and towns where the inhabitants are non-nonsense working people who don't get "gussied up" to drive to the Tractor Supply...
Yeah the original was not endearing to viewers as a stick-in-your-mind niche classic. It was good and I'd watch it if it was on tomorrow but wouldn't buy a DVD. The remake was decent. It kinda shows how being fairly true to the original script will produce something that is quite acceptable...
I think that sums it up. Since time passes on you could classify a thing that was made as a retro copy or "feel" of an original classic "something" as vintage once it is old. IE., The PT Cruiser will one day be a vintage automobile and perhaps a classic viewed relatively from a future date.
The book that impressed me most in life was Samurai by Saburo Sakai. After WW2 he was the leading living ace. He was an Imperial Japanese Navy pilot who went through some excruciating stuff and shot down 64 planes in the Pacific.
His narrative was probably the 1st biographical book I had...
When I was a kid in St. Louis we rode our bikes all over the city. We'd look at a map and take off to our destination. In my USMC recon unit we were given coordinates and expected to go there. Often it was just 2 guys on listen post duty but we knew how to navigate in the boonies.
Later in...
Hey Sinatra when you begin losing hair on top you'll start wearing a hat cause sunburn up there is painful. Probably 2nd to getting your "appendage" sunburned on a nude beachlol
Just goes to prove you should NEVER surpass your planned upon max limit. I never do on anything. There's another one of whatever item you're looking for coming along soon. Patience wins out.;)
Wild Root- exactly. The modern 5 MPH bumper is complex and therefore expensive. Also great care must be taken (read profesional mechanics) to remove them due to the spring tension that can injure the person removing them if doen wrong. I'd say the cost of chrome vs. the bouncey bumber is...
The real trip is Hitler interfering in the military in his usual genius way. The Luftwaffe was well on their way to destroying RAF airfields chain home radar facilities and other vital military targets till an He 111 accidently dumped its bombs on a civilian suburb of Coventry at night. The...
J.M. If you don't believe the media is biased stop and recall when you've heard a story about heroism, valor or anything positive in Iraq. I personally know that at least one Medal of Honor has been written up for award and many Silver Stars. All you and I hear about through the normal...
Etienne- if you've never worked on cars you wouldn't ask that question:) Seriously, I've gone to the auto parts store very greasy and regularly see other guys in the same shape. If I need something I will not clean up just to plunge into the dirt again upon return.
The places you mention...
Perhaps when folks see several guys in hats they imagine that they're missing some trend and feel compelled to comment and/or stare. Alone when someone gives me a "nice hat" comment I wonder if they think they might see how they'd look in a fedora and are maybe interested enough to seek a hat...
I also do not bid on anything with size only listed as "22.5 inches" or "Euro size 57" or whatnot. Even with manufacture sizing I can vary 1/8 inch and still be OK due to who knows what.
