Nice.
Another subjective question....I should be able to wear this with dress clothes on Sunday, as well as everyday wear? It's going to have to function that way for a while.
Checked my San Remo, see photo 2. The serial number begins 78-
This is consistent with what someone else mentioned above about this model. So my lovely is "only" 28 years old.
I wear one to work nearly every day.
I wore one to the Easter Vigil Saturday night; my new already beloved grey Borsalino, with my 3-button, navy blue pinstripes on navy blue suit. Sorry, didn't get a photo of myself. It would have been at home in any case.
That's just a couple. The episode I caught on Biography.com yesterday, was chock full of fedora wearers, all of the Inspectors, Chief Inspector Japp (Philip Jackson) who had only a brown. Poirot meanwhile changed hats a number of times in the two hours. Couldn't find a photo of the Chief...
I have red hair. My Dad's good friend always called me Red Pop when he saw me. I imagine he still would if I saw him, but it's been a couple years. My Daddy was III and I'm the IV, so I added the 4, when I tried to use RedPop on various sites. I had to add the 4 ad Red Pop or RedPop is usually...
Wonderful news on all that are with child at this time.
I'm a IV and Mrs RedPop4 wanted no part of #V. So we inverted the names, he's Benton Thomas James.....she's diabetic, didn't know if we'd have another or another boy, so he's named after both fathers, grandfathers, and my great.
Boy...
Being from the South, I should retire the darker felts in three days, on Easter.
Easter is the beginning of the season for ladies wearing white shoes and dresses, and for men to wear their summer straws.
Thanks. I did get one e-mail, saying a particular hat I was interested in was a pinch-front fedora...."the most classic of shapes, perfect with a Cohiba Robusto"
But no mention of wpsi, and no answer to a subsequent e-mail asking the same of another hat.
I've learned that the other vendor...
I and my boys (9 and 6) try to watch this every week on Discovery. It's simply a great show, blending science, engineering, movie-making, humor (intentional and not) and exlosions.
Adam Savage one of the two founders and Myth Busters, has coloring like me....red hair, fair...
Good thread. I'm looking into some things.
300 wpsi ok? I tend to go for form and funtion over high end, partly because I'm a bit a simple man, and partly because I can't afford much.
I'd like something a bit tighter, but can't pay nearly that much. A Panama Bob Havana at 300 wpsi is right...
Naptha on ties? Thank you for that. I have a tie right now that needs cleaning.
It's great for cleaning old furniture.
You guys put the entire hat into the naptha? Or just a wet cloth applied to the hat?
Visigoth, I've been looking over that seller for days now, trying to figure them. I e-mailed once and got a general answer, but not a wpsi. I resent my e-mail asking the WPSI SPECIFICALLY and have not received any type of response.
There's another on there named panamaecuador. They've been...
I'd love something like that, but I don't have anywhere near that kind of scratch. And if I DID, I'd still have to get that figure past MrsRedPop4.
Any ideas for a decent hat under $100? I'd go as low as a 500wpsi, if possible. I know that's a tall order, but I have to try. I don't wish to go...
I keep all my cigars between 65% and 68% if I can help it. Of course living in the New Orleans area, even with a good seal, this is tough to maintain. I've often kept cigars OUT of the humi in ziplock bags, they are sometime over-humidified. I do find that cigars kept over 70% don't draw well...
