Thanks for the info - that's exactly what i wanted to know! My waist increases by an inch in winter (lots of sitting around in doors being cosy!) so there are a couple of skirts and trousers I can't wear comfortably, or without unsightly bulging either side of the waistband. A cincher would do...
I told them all about it on the return form too! I have got a couple of vintage bullet bras but they aren't nearly as pretty as the WKD ones and they aren't too comfortable either. They also make my boobs look a bit pre-pubescent - hardly the voluptuous sweater girl look I'm after ;)
Lyburnum, do you mind me asking which size you got and what size your waist is naturally? From your photos you look like a pretty slim gal and I was thinking about getting the cincher to get my waist down just an inch to 23-24"
If this is a little too much info on the public boards drop me a...
Thanks for the tips Sunny - my hair is coarse, wavy and frizzy too so if you can manage it I should be able to as well! I'm not at all sure that I can do a roll behind my head though - I really struggle to do them where I CAN see, let alone out of sight!
Josephine - I tried your method last...
Oooh thank you - I'll give that a try. I just had my hair cut at the weekend so it may not be long enough now but I understand the theory now at least!
Oooh thank you so much! I'm feeling a bit old and ugly at the moment so that boosted my ego no end!
The best place for 'proper' pencil skirts is US ebay. Also you could try vivienofholloway.com She does GREAT pencil skirts in a variety of lengths and fabrics. They aren't on the website but she...
Not a good hair day today!
I tried out johanna's set last night. I couldn't manage the loop curls (how the hell do you do those?!) so I used small rollers instead for the top. The top and sides curled way more than the underneath so I had to pin it up underneath at the back. I also had a few...
Today i was attempting a sweater girl 50's kitten look.
Sweater from Oasis, skirt from Ebay, belt from Brick Lane, shoes from the Real McCoy in Exeter, hair flower from What Katie Did.
Here's a detail of the skirt - I love that the darts are on the outside!
Hello Fleur and thank you - the curls were a big fuzzy mess within 10 minutes of stepping outside my door sadly! I use Live Colour XXL dye which is by Schwarzkopf. I use a shade called Red Passion (I think). They do several really great reds and I don't bleach beforehand - my hair is mid brown...
Haha! Yes - I love them! My sister bought them for me for christmas. They are by Cath Kidston so probably quite expensive but they are yummy brushed cotton - really soft and warm. I'd wear them to work if i could!
I've been thinking I should get some layers put in - I'm a little nervous about doing it in case my hair won't stay up very well anymore. It's mostly one length apart from the weak broken off bits at the sides (too much hot stuff!). Maybe just some subtle layers would work. And you're right...
