Yes, I've heard, but in my book without the writers it will be Stephen and Jon interviewing and ad libing, it won't really be TCR and TDS.
I'm really torn about whether or not to watch (even though I'm not a Nielsen family so it's all moot anyway). They're going back under pressure from...
The color, the deco detailing near the heel, THOSE LITTLE BOWS! So, so cute. And that price! At least they wouldn't have fit you. That's some (small) comfort.
Film: Atonement. Visually stunning with great performances and direction.
TV: I watch very little but my pick would be The Colbert Report for series and The War for a TV special. Hope the the writers prevail soon, I'm going through serious Stephen withdrawal.
CD/Song: The new albums*...
I didn't know Cate Blanchett was going to be in this (obviously, I haven't kept up with this thread). Fab picture of her and nice to see Karen Allen again too.
That's a gorgeous outfit Miss 1940's, you look great! I can't wait to see what the other lucky gals who are wearing. Please take lots of pictures at the event!
Wow! The floral vine along the border looks like the ones on the Baltimore Album Quilts, so pretty! How long did it take you to make the whole thing?
I'm so behind in commenting on this thread but it's not for lack of admiration of the things folks have made--everything is wonderful; we've...
I'll definitely do that someday, hopefully later this year. I've been looking for adult patterns for this type of jacket for years with no luck at all. The instruction sheets are fascinating for these--you can see just how skilled home sewers must have been back then because so much knowledge...
Congratulations to the gals who are expecting!
I've got a fair number of vintage sewing patterns for children from the 1920's-the early 1950's. These are two of my favorites, suits for little boys age 8 and 4 respectively. I'd love either of those jackets for myself!
Thank you kindly! The dress is from Boden, a UK outfit I've recently discovered. They listed it as a 1940's print, which is patently is not! I like the color scheme though.
You look quite natty yourself!
I'm looking forward to this one--I really like Paul Thomas Anderson's work and this seems like such a departure for him. Daniel Day Lewis is pretty dependable but I think I'm most excited about seeing what Paul Dano can do, he's one of my favorite young actors.
This was the best picture I got of my (non-vintage) dress and it's not very good. I let one of my girlfriends do my makeup and she applied more than I think I've ever worn in my life--even so, my lipstick was pretty well gone by the time the photos were taken.
