I was kicking my self really hard recently for forgetting to bid on this hand bag. It had a striped lining, mirror in the lid and still had it's owners gray gloves inside. It went so cheap too!:rage:
Thanks Rosie, I wore them for the first time Monday night and after walking in them for a few minutes they felt totally fine. I was relieved as I wouldn't want to damage then, nor part with them. They were hardly worn so I think they were never really broken in.

I agree with Snookie, don't measure your foot, measure a shoe and come as close to heel hight as you can. In other words don't measure the inside of a flat shoe if you are buying a heel. I wear a modern size 8 or 8.5 depending on how the shoe is cut. I usually look for vintage that measure 10"...

It is not as stiff as hairspray. It helps hold the curl but I still use hairspray when my hair is dry and arranged the way I want it.
This comes in a bottle and you mix it with water and put it in a spray bottle. You use it when your hair is damp and spray and comb it through before setting...
Most of the 40's longer glamor styles (and some shorter ones too) were cut in a U shape, londer in the back and gradually shorter on the sides. If you go with layers, I would go with just a couple on the bottom to enhance your curl, but not so as to have curls all over your head, if that makes...
I use Lottabody as it is what I have seen reccomended on here the most. You can buy it at Sally's beauty supply stores.
You may find it online if it not available locally.
You may have more success doing this type of set with sponge rollers, and when you remove them pull them downward instead of unwinding them, as this will help form the sausage type curl.
