Anbody that PAYS to see repeat TV programs viewed on a 1.5" screen is a jamoke. Everybody that does that just prooves there a sucker born every minute.
No the Flash Gordon vehicles weren't even believable for me as a kid, when I saw them. They usually showed them in profile to keep "flying' problems minimal and even then we knew smoke in space was phoney.
Of course all that didn't diminish the imagination it stimulated in kids.;)
When have any of you seen a police mug shot with the crook wearing a hat? Never that's when. The reason is simply to get a clear image of the face and head. If that's encroaching on rights then so is "taking" fingerprints.
No democratic country in the world will ever forbid its citizens...
Hmm? Seems to me the Nazis put lots of people to work in Germany albeit in the armament industry but the economy was definitely improved for a while. It wasn't till 1944 that the economy turned down.
Here's a little timeline.
Overview-
1919-1932: The Weimar Republic embraces democratic...
Privacy ended a long time ago. We all have all our information spread all over cyberspace and it dwells in the databanks of every institution you deal with financially.
Get real. When you stroll into the corner Kwikee Mart and ask Habib for a Squishy and are being taped the whole time you...
Part of Hitler's allure was the fact that the Allies sought to punish Germany at the end of WW I. The conditions that festered were stimulated by the Allied want to get monetary retribution and keep Germany down. Rampant inflation and poverty swept Germany well into the 1920s. The very...
I was a kid in 1955 at the Disney opening and have gone more time than I can count. Over the years I saw all the fees grow and the park grow stagnant with so much sameness. Food rose out of all proportion relative to counterparts on the outside. And finally in true Yogi Berra language "It's...
lol :( As I read these examples I have to laugh and then be sad shaking my head. I wonder when or if we will ever profile the true probable enemy- younger middle eastern single males- at our security points. Or will political correctness and the perceived danger of insult or being labeled...
We will probably never abandoned the digitalness of things today. If anyone has ever edited files in games or whatnot in an effort to make a custom modification they will know that hexidecimal editing is the essense of breaking down a digital thing. Changing one digit could change the program...
Spitfire- yeah by that time the SS was staffed by 40% non-Germans. Most people have no idea. Also the SS has some 12-14 "departments" as it were. many were involved in esoteric things like Himmler's archeology nonsense and the myriad logistical support functions that assisted only 2 branches...
How things have changed value-wise. We're all worried about seeing people smoking in movies today. In the Golden Age they floated in on a smoke cloud in every flick and no one batted an eye.
Cursing is yet another part of human nature on an everyday basis. I sincerely have to question the...
No matter what they do the message is the same- "get your act together humans, we have the power to rock your world" Doesn't matter how much extra violence or how much less violence there is, the kernal is the same.
The film tickled peoples' fancies at the time just as several other sci-fi...
I think the next shuttle mission should have all the astronauts dress up in Star Wars outfits for our sheer entertainment and nothing more. Maybe we'd feel we're getting something more substantial for our buck.
Folks, you have to realize that when the fast food people ask you if you want something else like their new curly fries or turnip rings they are suggestively selling. It's no different that going to your home repair place where you buy a toilet rebuild kit and the guy asks if you need some...
