Aww, thank you! Your av is pretty swell too! :)
Daisy and Miss Bella Hell, you should check out Deleted if you haven't already. I think the fellow that maintains it posted about it here once. Anyway, they have some great old movies that you can put on your Ipod! And they are all free too...
$10 club! Still expensive for a scarf though! I'm gonna put my hair up in this for when I go to the beach. I could've gotten a Canada one for much cheaper, but that's not very beachy now is it?
Not vintage, but also under $10 (my friend's dad gets everything wholesale at American Apparel)...
I spend a lot of time on the internet, mostly because I don't like the TV except for one or two shows. And it's a good way to relax after class.
I check it once in the morning, usually just to wake me up a bit and check the weather, and then I spend a few hours on it at night, off and on...
Sometimes I feel a bit awkward, like I'm too dressy and people are going to think I'm "showing off" or something. That's probably because I'm surrounded by college kids in sweats. I also get embarrassed that I spend a lot of time getting dressed and doing my hair in the morning, while most...
Thanks! The Red Velvet I have looks scary dark on me! They do take returns and exchanges, I was surprised. That's very nice of them. I haven't done anything about it yet because I'm a bit lazy, but I should get on it. I love the consistency of their lipsticks, its a nice change from the matte...
Yesterday I went to a beauty supply store in town that was going out of business and picked up a lot of goodies! One of the things I got was Redken 22 Thermal Styling Mist, which the lady suggested in lieu of another brand of setting lotion.
It can be used for hot rollers/hot sticks or for...
That's my Besame lipliner in red with my sample of Red Velvet (my actual tube of Red Velvet is much, much darker though, I'm thinking the samples got mixed up).
I tried to do a more 40's lip, it was fun! I think it worked well.
Nope, I haven't tried either yet! I don't have any squishing at the top of my girdle, so I don't really need a long line bra. I just want a corselette cos they are cute! I probably shouldn't buy it just for that reason though!
That was my fear about the cincher, Fleur! That's the way my cincher from Macy's is.
LD and Fleur, or anyone else for that matter, do you have any of the Rago panty girdles? I want something that has suspender clips because I only use a girdle when I want to wear stockings. The main problem...
I collect vintage books, but they are all beauty, charm, personality "self-help" type books from the 30's to the 50's. They actually have some great useful information. And they are always so cheap on Ebay (don't tell!).
Okay, I have a question for you ladies! I purchased the Rago open-bottom girdle a couple of months ago, and love it, except for one major problem.
It comes down past my hips onto the tops of my thighs, and is pretty tight, so it smashes them together. I have pretty big thighs, but never have...
I'm lucky because my boyfriend wants to learn to dance just as much as I do. The hard part is finding the time to take lessons! He works in retail full time, and goes to school part time, while I do the reverse, so our schedules don't mesh very well. Oh well, someday we'll find the time.
These aren't necessarily true chick flicks, but my girly favorites are definitely, "Amelie", "The Breakfast Club" and "A Little Princess".
"Amelie" and "A Little Princess" make me cry! I actually haven't watched "Amelie" in ages because I used to associate so much with her why I was much...
Last night my boyfriend took me out to the Musso & Frank Grill in Hollywood (yep, the one suggested in Classic Style) and was all decked out for me, wearing his vintage tie, nice trousers, a dress shirt, his pocket watch and his very first fedora! He was so handsome! I dressed up too...
When I have the hair blahs, I usually just blow dry my hair straight (it's naturally wavy, but not in a very attractive way, but it's super easy to make straight), and put two combs in it on either side (asymmetrically) to give a little vintage flair and call it a day!
I did that two days...
My Baby Jo's has some super cute high-waisted trousers right here: http://mybabyjo.com/clothes/avapant.htm
They aren't as wide-legged as some of the other pants on this thread, but I really like them.
