I found a book called "Outdoor Life Cyclopedia" at a used book sale, printing date 1945, published by Outdoor Life. There's plenty of information on fishing, shooting, hunting, dog training, camping, tips on pack train expeditions (!), building a log cabin, and...camping...
As I'll be graduating soon and hunting for a job, I plan on getting some cards from an online place like VistaPrint. I can put my name and contact info there, and showcase my design skills at the same time. :)
Because pulling out a lime green index card to write your name on isn't terribly...
Oh yes - VintageSewing.info is fabulous! If you make your own patterns, take a look at their pattern books, too. I had to go to those for vintage style instructions that my modern book just didn't have.
Throughout my life I've hated big, bulky shoes, and tend to walk barefoot when possible.
These days, however, I wonder if I don't have some of that tendon shortening mentioned in the article, since I do wear (moderate) heels most of the time. It's pretty uncomfortable to wear flats now...
Well, the odd thing about it is...I don't often *feel* like I'm dressing up. :) I have a classic/traditional style of dress, and have only recently been moving into more of a vintage-inspired look. I can happily don jeans, but I'm generally most comfortable in something a little more polished...
Lovely patterns, Lady Day! Besides the Golden Era, one of my favorite periods for style is the 1910's. Those are some nice examples.
