I always look old fashioned:( apparently....my boss says I look like an old Edwardian soap advert (she says she means it nicely) and when I go to work with soft side sweeps in the old ladies that come in are always so impressed and tell me how they wish it would come back into fashion...
I have several original knits in good sizes plus some that a friend re-sized from original patterns.
There is no change in shape or loss of original styling.I'm not sure why there would be really? I am a costumier by trade and although sewing is my thing, this is no different really.

Can I just clarify what is actually being said here? That re-sized garments don't look authentic or that original patterns in a 36"+ don't look authentic?

Try ebay for a 'tootal' scarf.
The RAF didn't have an issue scarf as such (other than a blue itchy wool one!) But it was a tarty thing designed to cut down neck chafing to use a nice civilian scarf. Some pilots and aircrew used their girlfriends silk stockings!

I've been collecting since the age of 14 (when I was a flat chested skinny thing) but have a ton of clothing in all sizes and that goes from feedsack dresses to ermine trimmed evening wear and a couture label or two!
I like the Rago ones, a devil to get into lol and I have a few vintage ones...
