What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Oh, and in an interesting twist, the English dubbing of Howl's Moving Castle has the Witch of the Waste voiced by the leading starlette of the movie I'm watching at the moment; Lauren Bacall. Maybe after seeing the posting that mentioned Hayao Miyazaki's films, I was subconsciously drawn back...

    New sherlock holmes movie

I always appreciate the viewpoint of untouchable classics. :D I was nervous with the original movie, simply because there's always that possibility that a classic will be utterly destroyed. I was also nervous when LOTR was made, as again I grew up reading the books. I'm sure there will be...

    The Miracle of Absinthe

I've always wanted to try it but I thought what was sold in the states was sans-wormwood... I see you're also in PA, do they even sell it here?

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

I've see all of Hayao Miyazaki's films with the exception of Ponyo and can agree wholeheartedly. My wife is a big Anime fan, movies, series, and even manga, so I've had quite the lesson in genre since we met.

    New sherlock holmes movie

Actually, that's just Guy Ritchie's style. He's done movies in the same way for nearly 2 decades, and I always enjoyed them since he did a darker style but with a sideways element that other movies lacked; everything from Hollywood is too strait forward, you always end up knowing what's going...

    New sherlock holmes movie

I just saw Game of Shadows and enjoyed it immensely. I also really enjoyed the first one. I thought that they captured Holmes rather well, in a way that other adaptations didn't; specifically the darker side. I've read the novels and short stories, and while the new movies seem to be a...

    fur felt in hot weather?

Well, that also depends on the style... both AB and Penman hats can take a beating much more so than any beater. If I had a Penman Raider, it would certainly replace my brown Fed IV for adventures, however a Bogart style hat like the Casablanca would absolutely be reserved for every-day city...

Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

Wow, that felt ribbon makes quite a dramatic difference! And with the color, it works so much better than the original ribbon... very well done!

    fur felt in hot weather?

Many hats sold in OZ don't have liners, and some that are imported, I'm told, also do not. This is likely due to the fact that yes, they do retain some heat. Personally, though, I would rather have sweat stains on a liner than on the hat. I'll certainly admit that I've worn my brown Fed IV in...

    stetson nostalgia specs?

Yeah, from their responses "Custom brim cuts are not possible because Akubra is a large manufacturer" (from an email response I received on Oct 27) it appears that they may just be drop shipping; ordering from a warehouse to ship direct without the hat actually entering the shop.

    stetson nostalgia specs?

I had actually asked them this same question prior to purchasing my Moonstone Fed IV and they do not. They sell the hat as it comes direct from Akubra, and they couldn't take custom orders either. However, here is a pic from this afternoon of me wearing the Moonstone Fed. As I mentioned...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Very nice VS! Yet another amazing piece by Mr Fawcett; I'm eventually going to have to see him about one for myself.

    Post New Hats Here!

Yes, there are definitely some amazing hats in the shots on that thread. Some of the greats from Golden Era movies truly loved them; the Resistol ad with Bogart comes to mind. In some of the later movies I remember he starred in he generally wore a thin ribbon.

Maybe wider? I've grown to like wider ribbons, they seem more of a classic style.

That's a very nice hat, I wouldn't do a thing to it... but that's just me.

    Jimmy Stewart Treasures Old Hat

I remember well the day that Jimmy Stewart passed away, it had more of an impact on me than any other celebrity death... I've been a big fan for a long time; ever since I saw The Glen Miller Story, the first Stewart film for me, and later learning that he was from PA, only a couple short hours...
