The studs with swivel tops are fairly easy to handle and are all I use these days, but many I know swear by the spear-point types, especially for opening the studholes in stiff collars.
For day shirts, I would recommend the legal outfitters first, such as Stanley Ley and Ede and Ravenscroft...
That's my understanding too. There have been a few threads on this topic here on the Lounge. I believe that HJ may now source its hats either from Christy's, or that they both source from the same maker.
For anyone with relatively slim wrists, these might be a good deal:

It sounds well worth the reading! (I only went back about four pages when I first perused the thread.)
I haven't affected a monocle or stick for some years, but I like to think I still have the option, should I be so minded.
BTW, the monocle illustrated on the goldspectacles page looked a...
I believe Mark's shoes will be either the Alfred Sargent "George" or the "Melly" - try buying from him direct at:

Alan,
All the references you quote refer to waistcoats for wear with full evening dress only - quite a different kettle of fish. To the best of my knowledge, BK was talking about waistcoats in the context of morning dress and, as I say, I don't recall ever having seen any discussion of...
Personally, I wouldn't combine black with anything but black, of identical weave if possible. I find light coloured but weighty linen waistcoats (in grey, cream or buff, like morning waistcoats) go very well with suits in all sorts of shades, and that would be my general choice. Alternatively...
I think that would certainly be the logic, but of course I wouldn't want to put someone off taking this one off my hands! I had wondered about using it on one of my blue shirts when the attached collar wore out, but I don't have quite the right shade for that.
I agree with Orgetorix regarding favouing slimmer watches. Personally, I like my Rotary Elite; it is one of the cheaper decent mechanical watches AFAIK, white metal case with a curved mineral glass case, a nice deco-style dial with roman numerals and an inset sweep hand, rectangular in a style...
I still have one collar (blue end on end, c. 16" for wear with a 15 1/2" neckabnd shirt)for sale, plus a green/brown mix two-piece suit (c.42" chest); please see the link above for details.
Interesting question; I don't think I've ever seen that question addressed before. Now you raise it, I would suggest that etiquette is silent but aesthetics would suggest some but not too much; the d/b from the wedding photograph looks right, from my point of view.
Also note that this image...
An Indy-style fedora, apparently to the same spec. and by the same maker as that offered by Herbert Johnson. A rather higher crown than I normally favour, but I felt like trying it out today, along with a grey d/b suit and brown suede shoes.
I think you pull off all the ensembles very well, including the grey suit/boater outfit. The wing collar is particularly handsome; may I ask how high it is? At a guess, I should say certainly higher that 2" (which is as high as modern collars get, 1 3/4" being more typical), and probably...
I found the same problem until I tried Mitchell's advice; whilst I still don't find it easy, the process is markedly improved. I'd strongly advise against flipping up all except soft collars as it almost inevitably crumples, creases or otherwise damages the finish of the collar, in my...
Could be, although they are almost entirely unknown over here; in fact, I think Crockett and Jones are the only British makers who use Cordovan. I think it most likely that they are simply a good quality calf. If he's not wearing them more than once a week (PMQs are weekly) and taking care of...
