I have had lots of Red Wings over the years. I keep coming back to the original 875's. They appeared in 1953 or so and come in lots of widths.

Sam, wow, if my EE feet could only fit in those Beckman "D's." I had a pair about 10 years ago, and had to sell them. Since then, I've kept my eye out, even during trips to Japan, and have found that they're made only in standard width. So I went with the Wolverine Thousand Milers. They're a...
Perry, I've been back for about a week now. And then today and tomorrow are v-days too. Where I work, I get a generous vacation allowance. But we're so busy, I can't always take time off. So at the end of the year, I have to take more time. If I don't use it, I lose it....
Thanks, Harv!
Two-day catch-up!
David, I like Tuesday's bow on the Tumwater.
S4C, that Royal Stetson is really sharp. I can see why you like it, liking the Champ too. You wear them super well, and I always look forward to your pictures!
Charlie, that Werner Hilton looks like a...
Sorry for the abundance of caps lately, I feel almost off-topic! This one arrived about an hour ago from Keith. 1940's embroidered auto upholstery. More pics in the cap faction.
I got dressed up to go shopping, then my wife called to cancel our date. I might go see the Hunger Games III, as...
Sorry for glutting up the thread. But this just in from Keith, my first cap from him. It's from 1940's auto upholstery. You can feel the embroidered ridges of the silvery chevrons against the smooth wool background.

This just in from Johnnie! A special 4-panel with masterful pattern-matching. Fits really well. The light wool is amazingly comfortable, breathable and warm.

Eric, a clean car is a thing of beauty. My car is clean because I hardly ever drive (it's a NYC thing).
Sam, that's a mean tilt you got going on there!
Harv, why is it that your hats are looking better and better?? I really like that rich coffee brown color!
Charlie, you have that...
Terry, it looks great! I also hope you don't trim the brim. I like seeing Stagecoaches and other huge Westerns here on the daily wear thread!

Yes, my head is toasty! Windowpanes are one of my favorite types of tweed patterns.
S4C, I like the tall crown there, only slightly tapered!

I think it's straw, not polystraw. I'll have to dig it out and look on the inside of the hat. I always get compliments when I wear it! Here's the local store's web-listing:

I have the white one too.
Eric, speaking of two-a-day, I often think of your photos of the hats lying on the back seat of your car. They're waiting for you after coaching, when you change back to Clark Kent. But really, who can keep their car that clean!!?? Keeping nice hats there certainly raises the standard! :-)...
I've got a Capas toast straw. It's quite good, though not considered a prestige name. The moiré effect you see on the ribbon is in the photo not in the hat! These photos are from September. My iPhone 6 does a better job!
