    Show us your vintage hats!

My current favourite - a little black 50's number - it feels like wool so I guess that is felt [huh] It also has a little (and rather wrecked) veil. It just perches on the back of the head a treat!

    What are you wearing today??

GORGEOUS cherry lips! Your hair is looking fantastic and that dress is wondrous. And I'm just dying to give Grisling a squeeze too!

    To old for Bettie cut?

Wow. This is seriously offensive. Much love Miss Hannah (36 year-old wearer of pencil skirts and "too much" eyeliner)

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

I try to always be gracious about compliments even when they get it a bit wrong, but in my head I'm always annoyed! Like when I was stood waiting for a train wearing my favourite 50's suit, veiled hat and fur stole and a really sweet gay scottish couple sidled up and said "You look wonderful -...

    Clothing color combinations

I have very bright red hair so I find I can wear a lot of black without looking too dull, but green is my favourite as it contrasts beautifully with the red and exaggerates my pale skin without making me look pasty. Also, is it just me or does a pale to mid blue just suit everybody? It does...

    Perm Pics

I am strongly considering a perm at the moment as I can only get a good curl by sleeping in rollers every night, which is really giving my scalp a hard time. If I do nothing my hair is straight with kinks and utterly style-less so some waves would be a godsend.

Antje, there are hats you can wear with an up do - here are three of mine from when I still had long hair:

Playtex #4693 vs.modern style bra- PICS

Well out of my price range I'm afraid, especially when you add on international shipping! Thanks for the tip though - if I ever feel rich I may splash out, although I don't understand how they can really do a custom made bra over the internet - there are some things you just can't describe with...

    Cleavage

I couldn't agree more. There's something about the way her curves are all 'bottled up' in the show that is just so sexy.

    Beauty Bargains

Waitrose in the UK make a lovely moisturiser which is actually for babies - it's called Baby Bottom Butter  and is only £2.30 It only has 4 ingredients: Olive Oil, Hydrogenated Olive Oil, Vanilla Extract and Chamomile Oil. It smells fabulous and has a nice waxy texture so you only need...

    Cleavage

I'm a big fan of the style of Joan from Mad Men and she has a large chest. Interesting to compare the way her character deals with the curves versus the actress herself. Hope the second picture won't need removing - it is little much!

Playtex #4693 vs.modern style bra- PICS

Oh it's SUCH a shame they don't go down to my back size in this bra. I wear exclusively vintage bras these days as I just don't think the round shape I get in modern bras looks right under vintage clothes. I've only got 3 that fit well though and could really use some more. I bought about 12...

    Cleavage

I try not to be judgmental about other women showing cleavage but I have to admit that i don't like it much and that it doesn't do the women around them any favours. It seems to give the impression that one is presenting oneself as a sexual object, whether that is the intention or not. It...

    Why are wrinkles undesireable?

:eusa_clap It's an effing tragedy that women are still valued more for their appearance than anything else in modern society, after all we have done to further our journey towards equality this is the thing that prevents us from truly achieving it. Perhaps when I am old and saggy and...

A question for the red heads...

Oh my! Well, I'm glad you survived to dye another day :eusa_doh: sorry!!!

    Pillow-face

I move around in my sleep loads - I can't control where I end up! I've always suffered from pillow face but when i was in my 20's it would be gone within 10 minutes of getting up and now it's more like an hour, if I'm lucky! Maybe the silk pillowcase is the only way. Where can you get them in...

A question for the red heads...

Ooooh thank you! If I am keeping on top of it i dye it every couple of weeks with the permanent dye. It gets dull so quickly, but sometimes I just cannot be bothered with it and let it go for more like 4 weeks!

    Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen!

Cecil - thank you so much for those links - I had no idea about all that and was blithely walking around imagining myself 'safe' in a cheap SPF50.

A question for the red heads...

This is mine: My hair is naturally a mid-brown - a very dull greyish brown. I use Schwarzkopf Live XXL colour in Real Red or Hypnotic Red and I occasionally top it up with Directions Rose Red semi-permanent for a boost.
