Honestly, if you want a dishtowel with Jesus on it, why don't you make it yourself? There are iron-on transfers, embroidery, puff paint...seriously! Also, I would think there are collector's plates that have Jesus on them. I'm sure you could eat off of those too if you really wanted to.
Anyway...
I'm definitely smaller in the chest area than I am in the hips, which can be a bit of a pain, it makes me feel ill-proportioned. A padded bra is a life-saver for sure!
I don't know your sister's proportions, but part of my problem with getting vintage to fit me in the chest was the waist...
Wow, I'm loving these corsets!
I really want to try a corset out since I can't seem to get my waist smaller than 26" through dieting alone (well, maybe if I shed another 5 lbs but ice cream is too yummy!). However, I'm afraid I'll look way too wasp-waisted in one because I have such a...
I think I've finally found my perfume -- Chanel Chance. So that's all I really want!
That and lots of goodbye kisses from my boyfriend (I'll be leaving him for 6 months to study in the Netherlands!).
I've been growing out my bangs (and hair) for about a year now, and even though my bangs are down to my chin they are still a pain in the butt! The rest of my hair is about 3-4 inches past my shoulders.
Since I've grown my hair out I've noticed that it tangles like CRAZY. No joke, it tangles...
I always am wearing goofy colored or patterned socks. They are just what my mom always bought me, I never had plain white socks. I never even thought it was weird until I was in college and people started pointing them out! Who cares, you don't really see socks anyway!
I got my boyfriend a 1930's mint condition leather "dop kit" (still has an un-used bar of Lux soap in it!). It has a few brushes, soap case, cologne bottle, razor case, a mirror with a picture frame on the other (still has the original picture from the 30's in the frame), and a few other...
As a college student I definitely have to take breaks. Pretty much the only constants are doing my hair vintage and wearing red lipstick, both of which I stop doing around midterms and finals where sleep is more important to me than how I look.
I feel weird and self-conscious when I do it too...
An all-natural way to cure the yeastie beasties without hurting your cooch is to use plain yogurt with live cultures as a suppository thing. One method I heard of getting it up there is freezing it in a tampon applicator and letting it melt a lil bit (don't wanna freeze yourself!), and then...
I hope it's okay to post non-vintage stuff in here, but I really need to get rid of this chest of drawers! It's a great piece, but I'm moving out of the country in 2 weeks and there's just nowhere I can store it.
My Craigslist posting for it is here...
I had to go to speech therapy classes for a few years starting in kindergarten because I would talk so quietly no one could hear me!
I also had public panic attacks involving crying when I'd get nervous up until my freshman year of college. I'm so glad that hasn't happened in a few years...
Actually, I'm reading a biography of Clara Bow right now and it reminded me that Bettie Page was NOT my first introduction to vintage.
In about 7th grade we had to do board games on a decade, so my best friend and I chose the 1920's. We got super into the history and silent film stars and...
Mitzi!? I've never heard that as a nickname! My name is often really hard to pronounce for little kids, so I'm usually Mimi or "Mereduh". My friend's parents, who's native language is Spanish (Meredith makes absolutely NO sense to people who speak Spanish), call me Marilu, which I think is cute...
