The only thing that's affecting me is the tiresome bellyaching.:(
I don't get it. we have been told that we are returning to something closer to the original intent of this forum, yet we have been allowed to keep "some" of the non-vintage related threads.isn't that better than none at all?
We drank it exclusively for years and i actually prfer it, and have some mixed up in my fridge now.weird, huh? Considering i grew up in newfoundland which was actually still a part of britain til 1949, that might have some bearing, but again, i will have to drill my mother:)
I wondered. We drank powdered milk for much of my early years. but that was because We lived in an extremely remote area and sometimes it would be weeks before we could get fresh food again. But i have never thought to ask my mother what her family used.
Lizziemaine, i just have to chime in with the others and say how gorgeous you look. The dress is perfect on you and i am more jealous than i can say that you cam wear lavender as it is one of my favourite colours, but unfortunately, i look dreadful in it. Really, it is the bee's knees:)
The first thing that comes to mind is my etch-a-Sketch.Spent hours and hours on that baby. but i also had an Uncle who was actually just 3 years older and he had the most amazing G.I.Joe set.I was such a tomboy, but of course there's no way my mother would have ever let me own my own set.I used...
thanks, yes i am familiar w/ it, but also ate a lot of the canned growing up.I love both.I don't think we get it at the deli up here though, but i know hubby who is a connecticut boy grew up on it..will have to investigate:)
I LOOOVE the holiday turquoise! I painted my last kitchen a similar colour, thsi time,i am not allowed to pait( rented):( I bet your house will be gorgeous.please post pics when done!
Since the crash, i have read a few posts from folks who are a bit sad to see some of the old threads go.And as I know that sometimes we only hear one side of things, i would like to add my 2 cents. for what it's worth.I enjoyed some of the old threads too that weren't exactly "vintage"...
lol "what in tarnation!" was one my dad used alot. at least around us. I suspect outside of the house he might have used phrases that were a a tad less benign.I LOVE saying "Swell", and also use the word "dishy" alot...when i encounter someone that is "dishy" that is;)
It is nothing extravagant. It is "Royal Vale", but bears no pattern name.So i have not had much luck. My Mother received it as a wedding present from her new Mother-in-law.
Here is my tea set. I have 6 cups and saucers, 6 dessert plates and a large cake plate. I would love to have a tea pot.I have only ever seen one in the lavender colour.

I tried this, and it didn't work, but maybe i didn't really know what i was doing.;) I tried refreshing the page.nothing. I started trying about 2 hours ago and just got on now. I really don't obsess about these things normally, i do believe it will work itself out, 'cept my kids left the house...
