Daisy, I have a friend like that too. She always used to make me watch Mystic Pizza.
This is a tough one for me, because I have a total weakness for "guy movies" It's probably something I shouldn't be admitting, but I almost cried when I saw 300. Same thing happens to me at the...
Actually, barring what's going on in my personal life or at work, I find that my mood is often dictated by what I'm wearing or what my makeup looked like that day. A few ladies were talking about this in a powder room thread a while ago... the consensus seemed to be that even if you're having...
Ah! Those shoes! Vintage Betty, those are delicious!
Back when Endless first opened they had a Charles David spec on sale, but alas, not in my size and now I can't find them
Yay, Kimberly! That's exactly the one I was looking for! I knew it was German or French :eusa_clap
Here's a website that's actually for hairstyles, but each decade has TONS of pictures of actresses: http://www.lphouse.com/1920s.htm I've started you off in the 20s, but you can go to the...
Well, it's kinda hard to say since makeup can have such a big effect. You're lucky to have big beautiful eyes, which they really played up in the 20s and 30s (especially with the thin, high eyebrows.)
Dietrich had great cheekbones, and always tried to be lit from above when she was on set...
Thanks, Lizzie! I'm going to make a list of colours to peruse :)
mysterygal, for some reason the Sally where I do most of my shopping isn't so great on hair colour selection so I wandered over to CVS this week to look at all the hair colours and got utterly overwhelmed lol I kept picking...
Thanks, JBD! I went and got the small sized OxiClean and now I'm thinking I might have to invest in the huge vat of it :D
For future reference for anyone, I thought the material in my dress could stand a hot soak with the OxiClean and the yellowing seems to be coming out better than I...
Does anyone know of any good dark chocolate brown hair colours? I've got quite a bit of red in my hair as you can see in my avatar (edit: actually, maybe you can't now that I look at it ;)) and I'm getting tired of it. When summer rolls around, it's only going to get lighter and I want to stay...
KittyT, if you're in the minority I'm in there with you!
I LOVE the 50s and everything about them, in all of their kitschy glory ;) Don't get me wrong, I love the 30s and 40s too, and have a few pieces from those eras, but I think I get the best of both worlds in the 50s with the comfy...
I got a suit from mybabyjo last year and the same thing happened to me. I ordered it, then after a week went by I was told it was out of stock but they would be getting more within the week. Fortunately, they did and I didn't have any other hassles with it.
For some reason, stuff I order...
I just got a dress in the mail that I was really excited about, only to find that the yellowing, especially around the shoulder area, was much more than I expected (surprise, surprise!)
All in all, the dress is in great condition for it's age... seems to be all cotton, so at least I'm not...
This thread is so funny because sometimes it makes me wonder if I'm using a different eBay than everyone else :p I think I scour good then I see all these great things pop up on here!
I think there really was a full moon on Monday!
I'm a big reader, so if I have a bad day I'm likely to curl up with a book and some tea or a glass of wine. Or watch one of my favourite movies... and leave the cell phone turned off! :D
I just got this for $10... it's the second time I've seen it go up for auction, so I'm kinda surprised no one else even bid on it. The fabric is actually quite green up close.
ladyk, the buttons on your suit are fabbo!
Yay, I'm so glad it worked out for you and that you like your new brows! :eusa_clap I was just over in the waxing thread and they're talking about threading over there as well lol
Yup, that was me :) I think I put it in the eyebrow thread. A makeup artist did it for me free of charge one time and I found it much less painful than waxing, and it left less redness. As far as I know, threading removes a whole row of hairs at a time, so it's much quicker than plucking.
I did buy against my own better judgment :o But it was actually a very good BIN price... the only thing wrong with it was a missing rhinestone on a button, which I can fix myself.
