I enjoy knitting, I have randomly tried my hand at embroidery, I am trying to learn to sew. If I didn't live in an apartment, I like to ::edit:: garden, I originally wrote "sew" a second time :eusa_doh:
Does anyone do container gardening that could offer some tips on how to actually get...
This is a very long post, and I apologize. This is a topic I feel strongly about. If you read any of it, pease read the bit about the book that is the second half of my post.
Endometriosis won't show up on a CT scan or an ultrasound. The fact that they didn't find anything isn't...
I was curious, what happened to having one thread in the Classifieds that we could put all ladies' things into? It's hard having to wade through the hats and pens and men's suits. Some titles aren't descriptive enough to let me know that its a male item instead of a female item.
The...
Ilsa, I don't know about military hair styles, but I do what alot of the girls with short hair, do. I wear my hair with combs.
I wear a deep part, take the section, tease the back side a bit, and then twist once, toward the part. I then push the hair forward a little and slide the comb...
I hear that one!
I remember from my Women's Studies class a study that was done at some point that suggested (key word there, not "prove") that the most attractive people of each gender were the ones that approached being gender "neutral" on a scale. Basicly, women that aren't EXTREMELY...
Wow, Lizzie! I didn't know that your lifestyle is so vintage! Pretty cool! I can't imagine my life that way, but I admire yours!
So, if you don't have a Windows computer, what do you use? A Mac? It would be interesting if you were using DOS. Sometimes I miss the simplicity of my family's...
Wow! I am so impressed! :eusa_clap Great looking hat! I agree, having something you made for a big trip feels good. Especially when it's as nice as that hat!
Thanks for the compliments, ladies! :o I like short hair on me quite a bit, but I got bored (happens a lot!) and I really couldn't go much shorter lol I agree, the first picture is very modern and a bit punky. It was during the spring of 2006 that I started to get interested in vintage...
Here is one of my short cuts from the Fall of 2005. I have other pictures that are better, but the hubby just shut his computer off. Darn network!
This is from the Summer of 2006. Tried to do an Audrey Hepburn thing here. Don't mind the wistful-staring-at-nothing look lol
I have...
I don't have an educated eye, but I think it is beautiful, and doesn't look cheap from that picture. I agree, it would be the details that would make it. Alot of modern machine embroidery unravels easily because they leave the tails hanging out. That would be my big thing.
Well, I don't wear a hat because I am a child of the 80's. I am young enough that I was raised in a non-hat wearing culture.
However, I do like them, and would wear them if I found hats that I liked in my size. Ebay is of course a good source. But I wanted a hat quickly the other week...
Interesting website mentioned in the article. These are all companies that are dedicated to not using the potentially harmful chemicals. Quite the list! Including Body Works.

Mind a woman's input? I don't come at it from an expert's standpoint, but I think you look great in this picture! You look much more relaxed and comfortable. It feels like we are seeing "you" in this picture. My one comment about the outfit: in the full-length shot, your shirt collar...
Warning to the tall ladies: I purchased the pink Target dress with the matching belt that is shown above. It is an adorable dress, to be sure. Just be aware: the waist of the dress won't hit at your waist. Mine hits me around my lower rib cage. Because of that, I don't get a defined waist...
Check out the sundresses at JCPenney, some are vintage inspired. The white halter dress with the black embroidery I got last summer at TJ Max for $20! Mine has a one tier crinoline under it, I don't think the one JCPennys has does. Anyway, I thought the plaid dress was pretty cute, too. Here...
How short are you thinking of going? When I envision short, I think Audrey Hepburn short, from Roman Holiday. That is what my hair was about a year ago. I have a cute vintage-y picture of it. When I get home this evening I will put it up :)
Yes, Tour, talc is related to asbestos, they are all in the amphibole family of minerals. Minerals are grouped and calssified by their chemical formulas. I took a minerology class when I started work on a masters degree to teach earth science, and we had to be able to identify the minerals on...
Tinsel,
I know how you feel. I often feel under-educated. Many of the people here are highly intelligent and very passionate about their subjects of interest.
I, on the other hand, don't know much about movies at all let alone old ones. I like to read, but nothing very intellectual or...
